Marrakech - Imlil - Mountain Refuge 3207m

Marrakech - The Winter Toubkal Trek commences with your guide collecting you from your lodging and taking you towards the southern High Atlas Mountains.

Imlil - Roughly an hour later, we reach the High Atlas Mountains and proceed to the village of Imlil, a favored starting point for climbing Toubkal (1740m). Here, you’ll encounter our mule handlers and begin your hike.

Toubkal - Discover the area around Imlil and ascend the mountain, passing by the revered Sidi Chamharouch shrine, where we’ll pause for a midday meal. Continue climbing to the Toubkal shelter at an elevation of 3,207 meters, where you’ll stay overnight. The trek will take about 5 to 6 hours on foot.

Toubkal - An early rise is recommended to commence the climb before the sun’s rays intensify. Breakfast is served around 5:00 am, and the ascent begins at 5:30 am. You may need to carry your own packed lunch, and we’ll gradually make our way to a point above the shelter for a short respite with refreshments such as almonds, water, and oranges. After reaching the summit, a 45-minute break permits time for photography and admiring the panorama before descending back to the shelter for a diverse lunch. The three to four-hour ascent offers a panoramic view of the entire High Atlas Mountains akin to an aerial perspective, along with breathtaking sights of verdant valleys and Berber settlements.

Imlil - The descent to the village of Imlil follows, where we’ll have lunch prepared by our chef.

Marrakech - Post-lunch, the journey continues down to Imlil using the same trail. Subsequently, we’ll drive you back to the heart of Marrakech.
