What a fantastic day ! - We went for my husband's 69th birthday and did the VIP lunch and drinks were included packed in a nice is souvenir.
Cooler. The concession stand tendy was very polite and took care of everyone on the train quickly with having a back up, that kept the kiddos happy traveling with with families. The musical conductor was very entertaining and quite the ham! Made the trip so worthwhile and entertaining for all. The weather was.
Perfect. The views were amazing loved the 25 to 30 minutes stop in the woods and listening to the pan flute.
This is an amazing trip and I would definitely recommend it. We are thinking about coming back for the Christmas train.

Good dog-friendly activity - It was nice that they allowed dogs. It stopped halfway through and you got to enjoy 25 minutes in a meadow where they played music and you could have a picnic lunch. Entertainment (music) on the train was a very nice touch.

"All Aboard!" - Malacai, the Singing Conductor, and the train whistle were part of my grands' play for the rest of our vacation. Every time they came down the RV steps, they shouted, "All Aboard!"

Great Way to Experience the Redwoods and the Canyon - This was so much fun! I definitely, 100% recommend doing this if you’re in the area. My husband and I went on the earlier ride (~10:30 a.m.). I was set on being in the open car, but was surprised when we got there that there was no seating in the open car; standing only. Also, it was covered, unlike some photos on the site. This turned out to be a blessing, because the sun was strong! It was perfectly comfortable to stand in the open car the whole time. The seated cars were too warm for my taste.
I appreciated that snacks and drinks were sold on board, and that you could also bring food to eat during the stop at the end of the run, where you may also get out and walk among the trees—or sit and relax—a bit. They sell alcoholic beverages, I believe, and those may not be brought with you aboard.
Overall a lovely experience. Many riders brought dogs too, although it was warm. The one thing I could have done without was (and I don’t intend to sound mean-spirited saying this) was the conductor playing guitar and singing loudly. I was there to experience the outdoors, so that was added noise IMHO. Also be advised that the train horn is loud and blown at every crossing prior to getting into the forest, and the train itself is noisy. Again, I highly recommend the experience despite those little negatives noted above.

A Ton of Fun!! - A great time. Awesome engaged crew. Malachi made it fun for all. A conductor, musician and all around good guy. All were very knowledgeable about the area and provided very interesting facts on what we were seeing and what we should be sure to see.

A Fun Couple's Getaway - This trip, we purchased the VIP tickets. It was a fun couple's getaway. So relaxing and beautiful scenery. Malakai, the singing conductor, was amazing. His railway songs and flute music were so entertaining. We enjoyed the VIP package with lunch, wine and priority boarding. It was a great day off!

Loud singing - We had someone who thought they could sing ( which they made lots of noise) but couldn’t sing on key.
It was very annoying to have to listen to that VERY LOUD awful noise almost all the way back to Willits, several people around us were complaining and we wished we would have brought earplugs. Then he wanted tips!!!
Would have been lovely to enjoy the train ride in peace.
