Highlights
  • Colonial Williamsburg Capitol Building - Experience the many ghosts of this old colonial town that are still seen today. Learn of the hangings of Blackbeard’s crew and what happened to Blackbeard’s skull. Did our forefathers really drink from his skull? Stand right where Grace Sherwood, the most famous witch, is often seen during mock trials in the Capitol and hear of her fate, finally pardoned by Gov. Tim Kean after centuries of being called the Witch of Pungo. Learn of Anne Bonny and Mary Reed (a woman posing as Mark Reed) who were aboard Calico Jack’s ship and fought like men. Top it all off by going to the Jones Graveyard, where Ida Jones still haunts the graves today, in the late-night hours.

Very Enjoyable Tour - Maiden Lexy was a great tour guide. She was enthusiastic, entertaining, and knowledgeable. The stories she told were about witches, pirates, and ghosts. Our group was 10 ten people, including Lexy. After the tour, my granddaughter commented how lucky we were to be in a small group. Many of the groups we passed had 30 or more people. We could all hear Lexy clearly, and even the youngest child in our group, who appeared to be about 5, was focused on the stories she told.

Fun way to learn new history - It was a fun way to hear about some history we wouldn’t have otherwise learned about. If you like photography, nighttime was great to get photos without a lot of people in them. Unfortunately it rained hard during our tour but Lexie and Mr.Pirate were troopers and never complained. Mr. Pirate had a nice loud booming voice and told pirate themed “Dad” jokes while we walked.

Great fun! - Perfectly suitable for a family with younger children though be aware there are ghost stories that can feel eerie and unsettling. The tour is a mixture of theater, history and ghost stories. We enjoyed it thoroughly.

Historic, interactive, spooky. - Very interactive stories of witches, pirates, and ghosts. This was the first thing we did at Williamsburg then walked the next day in the day time and had a great reference from the tour the night before of the buildings.

Ghost Witches & Pirates - The Ghost, Witches & Pirates Tour was the best I've been on to date. Our Tour Guide (Lexy) was pretty awesome. She shared a lit of history with us. I don't know how she remembered all that information. Our group was small which made it awesome because we all stuck together and Lexy was able to share more with us because we were paying attention .
