Highlights
  • Curaçao Cruise Terminal - This tour starts off at our office at Caracas bay. In a short briefing you will be told how the tour is going to be done. Things kick off with a kayaking adventure along the coast and you’ll sail under old piers along the way. Look closely and you’ll see how the sun changes the colour of the water – you might even spot the red coral beneath the pier. During the tour we will use two person kayaks which makes kayak easier, kayaks can also be turned in a one seater if we have uneven numbers.. You’ll also pass Fort Beekenburg, which was originally built in 1703 to protect the inner bay, and Quarantine House – an old manor estate that used to be an Quarantaine hospital. At the old piers it is sometimes possible to see upclose ships or crane platforms that visit Curacao for crew changes. From here, it’s on to Doctor’s Bay, where you’ll be kitted out with snorkel gear so you can head into the water. You’ll visit a shipwrecked tugboat that’s home to a long list of underwater creatures – including turtles, rays and rainbow-coloured fish. This is Curacao’s top snorkeling spot, so bring an underwater camera if you have one.

Not sure if the life... - Not sure if the life vests were cleaned between each use. Guides were great. Not great communication on how much the cab was from the port to the destination.

Great snorkeling spot - We had a Saturday morning trip with Teas and it was a lot of fun. A quick paddle across the bay to a really cool snorkel spot. Teas was very friendly and we had a great time

Best kayaking and snorkeling combo in Curaçao! - My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking and snorkeling trip! The Adventure Tours personnel were really professional —from contacting us the day before to making sure we were signed in and prepped for the morning’s trip. (Lockers were included as well) Shoutout to Teas who was an awesome guide! He always kept an eye on us and was great company. He was very knowledgeable and patient. 10/10 recommend if you are looking for an easygoing kayaking trip with an hour of snorkeling to see a lot of the Caribbean reef sea life.

Great kayaking - Sophie was our guide and she was delightful-we were lucky to have a private tour! The paddle out was a workout but I enjoyed that as it was a little choppy. The snorkel area was teaming with fish over a small tug boat wreck. The manager (Frank?) was very sociable - overall a great experience highly recommended

What a beautiful experience - We found the facility easily with Google Maps, and the young fellows that worked there were beyond friendly and helpful. We kayaked with a tour guide Cesar who was knowledgeable and friendly. We snorkeled and we made an extra stop at a castle type figure from WWI. For two city folks, it was easy to glide ourselves in the water, the guide was very helpful. What a great experience!

Great time! - We were picked up and dropped off right from our cruise ship, which was perfect! Quinton was a wonderful guide who showed us some great areas for snorkeling. He was very patient with us on the paddle out to the snorkel area, as we were new to double kayaking. Quinton was very attentive and explained things well and since we were also new to snorkeling, he was very attentive.

Kayak and Snorkel - This is a small business that rents jet-skis and other watersports equipment. It was just us and a guide on a very windy day. First 15 min was hard work as we paddled against the wind to get to more sheltered water - just be advised if you are not in decent shape and it is a rough day. Snorkeling was off of a rocky beach to a sunken tugboat. Very close to a site that had an oil rig and drilling ship moored for repairs. Location was sheltered enough so that the snorkeling was easy. Tour operator does not provide fins (you can get to/from the tugboat without fins, but if you have your own you should bring them). Plenty of time to snorkel as much as we wanted. Great guide, very helpful and didn't rush us. They picked us up but paid for a taxi to take us back to the cruise ship pier. Had a hard time getting in touch with the business to confirm transportation - they didn't respond to emails until the morning of the tour.

Good spot to snorkel - more details should be provided - Great snorkeling spot if you can get to it! We went on a day with very strong waves and winds - about 45 minutes kayaking against the waves and winds to get to the spot. Once we got there, it was very difficult to get out of the kayak with the waves and the beach was full of rocks. We did not have the proper shoes for this and were not given enough details to adequately prepare. Definitely for advanced kayakers.

Many minuses, a couple of pluses. - Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. 1. The tour didn't start until an hour and fifteen minutes after the supposed starting time. Nobody came to explain or apologize. When I asked (after 45 minutes' wait), I was told that they were "short-staffed". No apology or and ETA given. 2. The guide was uncommunicative - gave us very rough instructions and then rowed ahead without checking whether we were following or whether we were doing OK. 3. The guide told us "20 minutes' rowing". It was 40 minutes and quite rough. The water was choppy and we had to row very close to some snorkelers - didn't seem safe to us. 4. Once we reached the snorkeling site, the waves were quite strong so as I was trying to get off the kayak, the waves threw the kayak into me so I fell onto the pebble beach. The guide just watched - some people on the beach came to my help. 5. The guide handed us the goggles and snorkels - no flippers - and pointed us in the direction of a boat wreck. Then he lay down in his kayak and turned his phone on. He offered no assistance and he didn't take us out there himself. 6. The swim was not easy and once I reached the destination, the wreck was just a few pieces of the boat bottom. The sea was murky from the choppy waves, so there was not a lot to see. The swim back was even more difficult. 7. We told the guide we did not want to kayak back - we were exhausted - and he arranged, very quickly, for us to be picked up. Plus for that :) 8. When we got back, another member of staff listened very carefully to what we had to say, wrote everything down and promised to look into it. He apologized profusely and was very professional. Plus for that :) What they need to do (and I hope they do as they seem to have some professional staff) is to warn people of the difficulty level, recommend wet shoes and flippers (or provide them) and, of course, make sure the guide is attentive and safety-minded. Also, in choppy seas, the tour should be cancelled and something else offered (or a refund) as the kayaking is difficult and there isn't much to see in the snorkeling part.
