Highly Recommended - We did the 26 Glacier Cruise - a tour offered by Phillips Cruises. I highly recommend this iconic-Alaska activity. The boat was very stable! For fun, I counted glaciers and came up with 35. So at the very least I can say we weren't short-changed. We saw birds, sea otters, and humpback whales. There was a park ranger onboard who added a lot via his commentary. Did you know that glaciers move about a foot a day? I didn't! I'm known for having an iron stomach, but the chowder got me; fortunately the bathroom was clean!

Absolutely Worth It and So Close to Anchorage - This is a must-do if the weather cooperates; the sights and cruise are worthy of anyone's bucket list. Clear or partly cloudy weather is best, so reschedule if it's raining or snowing. Also, if you have a vehicle, driving to Whittier is easy and allows you to stop at other sites along the way (think Potter Marsh Boardwalk, Byron glacier hike, Bore Tide viewpoints, Beluga Point, Alyeska Resort/Girdwood, etc.). We were there during the shoulder season, so booking could be done based on the weather forecast the day before the cruise. AAA discount was equal to the group rates, without having to book in advance. The Bravest boat was clean, comfortable, fast, and staffed with an organized and friendly crew. The onboard National Forest Service docents were a wealth of interesting facts throughout the six hour tour. Breathtaking views of 26+ glaciers, icebergs, bald eagles, harbor seals, Dall porpoises, and rafts of sea otters. Window seats inside are best if you want to stay warm, but outside is comfortable (with appropriate layers) when the boat stops for full-immersion viewing. The included meal was very good, and you can add drinks at the no-host bar if you'd like. There are plenty of restrooms and places to charge your electronics. As amazing as the scenery seemed during the cruise, the scale of the Alaskan wilderness is mind-bending if you're lucky enough to fly out of Anchorage over the Prince William Sound on a clear day; the snowy peaks and glaciers extend to the horizon!

Beautiful views - We took this 5.5 hour glacier tour and were not disappointed. The views were beautiful. The day we were scheduled to go we knew it was going to rain so we called the day prior and for $25 we were able to move it out a day which was sunny and warmer. See if you can get a window seat. We were lucky and the boat was only maybe 1/2 full. I think I would have been miserable if the boat had been full. It would have been tough to fight for spots to take photos and we could have been sat in the middle seats of the boat. Know you are seated with others you do not not around a table even at the window seats. The food onboard was good and they have a bar and snacks for purchase. I think the 3.75 hour cruise would have been enough for me, but we did truly enjoy the tour.

Would go again, amazing! - So amazing, worth every penny! The inside of the vessel is very nice, and plenty warm. We did bundle up a bit before going outside during the stops at all the glaciers. A few things of note that might help your trip: -bathrooms are spacious and clean -the tables have usb ports, definitely bring a cord! My phone is fairly new, and it still drained the battery with all the photo/video taking. -they have snacks available for purchase (Pringles, skittles, KitKats, etc). Not terrible pricing either, like $4 or something -cute stuffed animals for purchase too -disposable AND reusable ponchos for sale ($3 and I think $8). There are overhang areas on the outside deck though, so you could stay out of the rain and still go outside. -binoculars for rent, $5. Do it! Very cool seeing everything, especially wildlife that you could barely see without binoculars. -the crew is so friendly and provided so much fascinating commentary -we went on 9/20 and since it’s not the peak season the boat appeared to be at less than half capacity. Made it feel like almost a private tour, and also meant less crowded on the outer decks. Easy to take videos/photos and not have other passengers in them. I’m probably forgetting stuff, but the main point is definitely do this if you can. The picture that’s a circle is a bear through the binoculars.

11 out of 10!!! - The crew were attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. The boat was well equipped, well maintained and provided a warm and cozy sanctuary. You could elect to go on deck or stay inside from where you could still observe the glaciers. It was a fantastic tour and our captain provided close range viewing of the fantastic glaciers.

An amazing, truly accessible, adventure! - My family and I have gone on several Major Marine and Kenai Fjord Tours out of Seward. The boats - despite those companies advertisements - were not accessible at all (my wheelchair couldn’t get on the outside decks, in the bathrooms or fit down the aisle of those other companies vessels). The water was rough out of Seward, so everyone got sea sick, and while the staff was pleasant they lacked the care, compassion and friendly customer service that comes second nature with everyone here at Phillips Cruises. We accompanied our children on a school field trip, and were so excited and busy with life we forgot to ensure everything was wheelchair accessible. The tour we were scheduled for was on an “inaccessible” boat. However, this inaccessible boat was 10,000 times more accessible than the accessible vessels from the other tour companies. If this is inaccessible, we can’t wait to come back and take another tour on one of Phillips Cruises accessible vessels. I didn’t get sea sick at all. I was able to wheel around the main deck of the boat, and access the outdoor deck with one small wheelie over a small threshold no larger than a sidewalk curb. The staff, especially Ryan, was amazing and extremely accommodating. They pulled a chunk of glacier that was floating in the water aboard. Ryan went out of his way to bring a small chunk of glacier to my table so I could enjoy the chunk/experience as well. The staff was friendly, especially with all the children. Their knowledge about wildlife, and Alaska was excellent. I could write a book on all the ways this tour and staff are exceptional. But instead, I’ll leave you with this, if you want to experience an adventure of a lifetime, take a tour with Philips Cruises.

Best Glacier Cruise in All of ALASKA! - Best Glacier Cruise in ALL of Alaska! Enjoyed it so much me and my family did it twice in one week. Food was excellent and having options made it even that much better. Did three other Glacier Cruises throughout Alaska and none of them came close to betting this one! The only thing that could have made this cruise better was if me and my family could have seen whales.

Excellent. - Wonderful. I'd consider it a "twice in a lifetime" experience. As in...its so lovely you'll want to find a way to do it again! The crew made us feel welcome, the food was very good and served hot with the perfect hearty proportions for the long float ahead! Highly recommend ordering the salmon chowder! A perfect way to try fresh Alaskan salmon if you haven't had the chance yet! It was scrumptious. The complementary coffee and tea was perfectly brewed and surprisingly delicious for a self serve set up. The staff also kept the self-serve area clean and all the drinks/cups/creamers full no matter when we stepped up to top off. Plenty of room to move around the boat, inside and out. I went with my mom and we are more "don't want to miss a minute outside" type of people so we just stepped in to use the bathroom or top off our hot drinks. Seats inside were comfortable, though we did share our booth with a family of four so we were slightly squished when everyone was sitting down. Would have been nice to pick seats so we didn't have to ask someone to get up every time we wanted to come/leave our booth. As for the tour itself, wow. Incredible views. Plenty of time in beautiful spots to take pictures and take in the views. The captain was delightful and encouraged excitement for the glaciers and the wild animals we got to see! Our tour guide, a national park ranger, was extremely bubbly, kind and knowledgable. He talked enough to share his joy of the creation around us while also giving us time to take the views in with just the sound of the wind. Auto-system was clear from inside and outside the boat. An excellent experience from start to finish and at a price point that is doable for the incredible service and tour that you get. Highly recommend! Take the 9:30 tunnel into Wittier if you can! Then you have time to enjoy the town, have a cup of coffee and a yummy breakfast right on the coast and prepare for your sea-adventure!
