Highlights
  • Cabo San Lucas - Discover the ocean’s most majestic beings in Los Cabos, Baja!..\nAvailable only during the season.\n\nAnnually, the ocean’s largest mammals embark on a journey from the frigid waters of Alaska’s Bering Sea to seek out the warmer climates suitable for breeding. Fortunately for those of us residing on the Baja Peninsula, the balmy waters required for these giants to reproduce are right here in our vicinity.\n\nThis spectacular occurrence commences in January and concludes in April, offering one of the most extraordinary encounters with nature one can experience.\n\nWhile the 5000-mile trek of the Gray Whale from Alaska predominantly concludes at Magdalena Bay, about 270 miles north of Cabo San Lucas, their journey also includes other destinations and objectives within the Gulf of California and further south in other Mexican states.\n\nIn Los Cabos, Gray Whale observation is a daily delight throughout the season! Rancho Tours invites you on a luxurious pontoon excursion around the bay of Cabo San Lucas and along the Pacific coast to witness these noble giants as they traverse the shoreline. Sightings of Humpback whales are also common.\n\nSeize the chance to partake in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!\n\n(Please note: As this is a natural phenomenon, the presence of whales cannot be assured).\n\nThank You!

Wonderful excursion! - We had a wonderful time overall. The start of it was a little rough, because we had a difficult time finding the meeting point. The ticket had an address of where to meet, but after walking a mile and a half there (should have gotten a taxi.... but we needed the exercise), there was nothing there. We called the number and was told to go back to the port near the shopping center. Still not real clear of where we should go so we went back to the port area (makes sense) and started asking around for the business, THEN we got clear guidance of where to meet. We met them at dock A. So this part of the day could have been better.... with better instructions of where to meet!! Once we got on the pontoon boat it was wonderful!! Our guide was Sergio. We were the only two people on the boat with Sergio. He had a wonderful playlist to listen to. We saw many whales. It's not guaranteed to see any, and you have to be patient while you wait for them... but, we saw several of them, which was wonderful. We would most definitely go on this tour again and would recommend it to all of our friends and family. I would highly recommend Sergio. We got along with him so well that by the time we got back we felt like he was a good friend and we exchanged numbers with him. If he is ever in the Phoenix area he is welcome in our home.

Amazing! - Booked Rancho Tours with our hotel concierge. We booked the sunset whale watching tour and have never done this excursion before. The driver was early which is nice and explained everything in detail. We were taken to the marina in a private shuttle and the driver walked us to our boat dock and explained we would have a hour or so at the marina to shop and just needed to be back at the dock before 430. We booked a private boat tour and our Captain was Sergio Medrano. Sergio was amazing. He did a great job of jockeying the boat to get the best view of the whales and their babies. We couldn't have had a better experience. The smaller private boat was the way to go and was easily able to get closer to the whales than the huge larger catamarans with hundreds of people on board. Beers and drinks on ice all Thanks Sergio Medrano! hope to see you next time we are in Cabo!

A1 experience - The staff was over the top service ...we had an AMAZING whale wstching experience with a little help from "wille" the whale with his playful breeching and splashing. I've used cabo expeditions and have always been pleased but Rancho tours will be my new ho to people

Private whale watching tour on pontoon boat - Booked private tour for four persons through hotel activities staff with Rancho tours. Couldn’t have been better. We were picked up at the hotel and driven to Marina. professional operation soon had us on the boat with Manuel (?) as our captain. Soon we were seeing Pelican Rock, Lover’s beach, the Arch, and Land’s End. After that we headed off in search of whales. The boat was amazingly smooth on the open water. We saw humpback whales, dolphins, and seals. On the way back we sailed near the coast to see spectacular homes and resorts. Great experience and highly recommended.

Private Whale Watching Tour - My husband and I booked a two hour private Whale Watching tour with Rancho Tours (through our hotel). Our original tour was scheduled for a 3pm departure. After heading out with Jimmy, the wind picked up and the waves became a bit concerning. Jimmy was great and strongly advised that we turn back. He communicated with his boss and they arranged to take us out the next morning. The following morning, Alejandro was our captain. He was great and so was the weather. We saw dolphins, otters, a sea turtle and lots of whales. It was an amazing morning and a fantastic tour. Rancho Tours were professional and kind throughout our two day adventure. We highly recommend them.

Whale watching on a pontoon - Six of us got on a pontoon with Manuelo as our pilot. He took us around the Arch & gave us lots of information on the scenery. We were thinking it would be windy & a rough ride but he handled the boat so well, we never noticed either. We saw seals, a dolphin & at least 12 whales! We were able to get fairly close, saw whales breach, a couple of families of whales. We also snorkelled about 1/2 hour & saw a lot of colorful fish. It was our best tour of the whole week!!!

Don't do this one! - Worst experience on a shore excursion to date. Provider had incorrect meeting start time vs what was purchased. More than 6 phone calls back and forth coordinating. Purchased tour was not available in scheduled timeframe, provider did flex to make a tour happen still, but it was sub-optimal.
