Whale Shark Tour - This was awesome. We got so close to the whale sharks. It was amazing. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure that we were able to see the sharks. The homemade ceviche was amazing. We ate this while the boat was beached at the mangroves. The tour guide said that sometimes there are flamingos to be seen — not this time though. And, we saw a giant sting ray while we were snorkelling. It was an awesome trip that my family and I will never forget. We just wish that we could get some photos from the guide. We didn’t take any camera with us.

An adventure - Trip was amazing and definitely worth doing. It was a little different then I imagined but still a great experience. The boat ride out is intense. It is 2-3 hours to get to the whale sharks at a fast pace and very bouncy on the boat! Not good if you have any back or neck issues. The smirking with sharks was awesome, but also intense as it is incredible to see, but you are swimming fast to keep up with it and the guide! The 2nd snorkeling stop was nice to get off boat longer and swim around, but nothing noteworthy to see. A few basic fish and a ray for us. Lunch was great and relaxing! Whole day ended up being about 8 hours. If you have the time and are up for the adventure, do it!

Amazing experience! - From the pickup at our hotel to the swimming with a whale shark everything was great. Bambino met us at the dock with a fistbump and an are you ready! The boat ride was about 2 hours but we stopped a few times to see sea turtles? They (sorry I forgot the captains name) pointed out fyling fish and told us the history of what we were passing. The highlight was swimming with the whale sharks though. They were great at getting us lined up with the shark as it headed directly towards us then told us to jump in so that we had the best point of view with this amazing fish, mouth open, swimming right at us then turn and swim side by side with us. Bambino was right there videotaping it all with his go pro and pointing and telling us where to go. Amazing experience which Bambino then shared our videos with us! Back on the boat for about an hour to a spot where we snorkled, saw lots of fish and a huge green eel! On to shore from there for some really good ceviche and a nice rest and back to Holbox. Great experience which I highly recommend with this company!

Whale shark adventure - Chuy was the best tour guide we could have found. He was very helpful, very patient and provided a lot of information regarding the wildlife and the history of Holbox. We will definitely book with him again. Thank you Chuy!

Experience of a lifetime - Whale Shark - We had a group of 10 in our party. So fortunate to have the boat to ourselves. Leo (Captain) and Eric (diver & guide) were amazing!! Eric speaks English which was helpful with the group. Eric made sure we had a great experience while being cautious with the whales. Leo was an amazing boat driver and made sure we got as close as possible to the whale sharks. They provided cold water and sandwiches. They also let us bring a cooler on the boat with our own items for after the snorkel. I really appreciate how they made sure to keep the environment safe by being aware of the trash. I would highly recommend Holbox Adventure for this excursion.

Amazing experience! - Our experience with Holbox Adventure was amazing they are very respectful of the whales and have a great customer service. Highly recommended! - Bilingual tour guide Clark - Experienced sailor and great ceviche chef Carlos - Nice comfortable boat - Timely pick up from our hotel - Delicious Ceviche - Good snorkel equipment Clark was very specific on the rules to protect the environment like to keep distance from the whales and to remove the sunblock and to warn us that if we touch the whales we won’t have the right to take a second a dip. I will definitely book them again.

Long ride but worth it - The boat ride to the migration site was long (2+ hours) and at times bumpy but being able to swim eye to eye with a 20+ foot whale shark was phenomenal. I wish we could have been in the water longer but they limit the number of boats and the individual time swimming with the sharks. Two of eight passengers got a little sea sick so wear a patch if susceptible. The tour was run very efficiently and the guide and captain were friendly. The captain doubled as a DJ and played some lively Mexican pop music. The breakfast snack was unusual - ham and cheese sandwich, but the fresh ceviche prepared at the snorkeling stop was delicious and an island bar offered alcoholic drinks. The water that day was not clear enough for snorkeling but we were more interested in the drinks!

Not What You Think It will Be - It was an experience to see the whale sharks in the water, but the amount of boats surrounding this amazing animal made me cringe and feel pretty bad about the experience. There were boats from Isla Holbox, Cancun and Isla Mujeres and it was just too many boats around them. It was like we were harassing them just to get a good look. The whale that we were around went underwater and didn't come back up and I did not blame them. The tour itself was fine, the boat captains were nice, but I would not recommend this to anyone. Nothing wrong with the company, just not okay to harass wildlife because I want to see something up close.

Actually being in the... - Actually being in the water with these gentle giants. I would probably eliminate the stop on the island for crevice.
