Worth it - Great adventure made so by the guide who took us to the cave & snorkelling. Cave a fun experience. Despite the rain the snorkelling was super(the water was really warm). Finished with a short climb to see a wonderful sunset.

Punctuality and professionalism - Precise agency and young and serious guides. Advice. Punctuality and professionalism. In a few hours you go with the driver to a panoramic point, then snorkel and then cave.

Add to bucket list of tours while in Labuan Bajo…lovely half day. - Wonderful half day trip. I inadvertently double booked my tours and tried to reschedule this one with Agoda for the next day. They were very unhelpful. I contacted Alba tours and they sorted out a change of day without hesitation for which I was very appreciative . The day started with the walk up the hill which took about 10 min. You definitely need good grip shoes as it’s rocky and gravelly but worth getting to the top for lovely views of the bay. The 20 min car ride to the next stop consisted of many road curves and the driver had to navigate around large trucks delivering food and building materials in the area. There looks like there is a delivery depot there.
Our second stop was the snorkeling trip where we arrived at a little boat village and was motored to a special place full of corals and colourful tiny fish. It was very relaxing, the water seemed quite salty so it was easy to float and there was no current unlike the all day kimono island and snorkel tour which we did the day before. Here, no flippers were needed and it was a joy to swim . Next we motored around the corner, moored at the beach where there was a few huts and walked along a path for 5 min until we reached the cave. Even though the sun was shining it was very dark and the stone steps leading down to the water were a challenge. Care must be taken when descending. The experience was quite novel but perhaps a few lanterns or a bit of lighting would make it extra special.
After getting back to the first boating village , we were driven back to our hotels. The driver was great! The tour company was caring.

Loved the cave and snorkeling - In the order that we did activities (we started at 8am)
1. Amelia Hill Sea View: nothing that special, could have skipped. It’s supposed to be a good place to watch the sunrise and sunset, but we weren’t there during that time. We drove to this. The other two places were by a motorized wooden boat that is very loud (so maybe bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise). I am more prone to motion sickness that others, but this boat was ok for me).
2. Boleng for snorkeling: awesome! I saw weird starfish and fish that I’ve never seen before, not even during the long Komodo Island day tour. However, I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to go because there’s no guide in the water with us. No flippers provided, but easy to float (I normally cannot float well). The coral didn’t seem very dead like I read in other reviews. Plenty of fish to see.
3. Rangko Cave: WOW. We arrived around 11am and the cave was so dark, but as the hour passed, the lighting hit the inside the cave so that you could see it. The water is incredibly clear, warm, and easy to float in. Also, be aware that there are bats in the cave, but they aren’t dangerous and they don’t fly too close to you.
Improvements: Could be nice to be more structured. For example, tell us the order of activities at the start of the tour because it seems like the order changes based on the time of day that we sign up for. Also, tell us how long we have at each place / what time we should try to be done with each activity.
Other notes: there were only 5 of us on the tour. I saw in other reviews that the driver didn’t speak much. My driver didn’t speak much but I didn’t care and I didn’t ask questions. His English was great though. Also, there is a restroom before we leave for snorkeling, as well as at the cave.

Didn’t know what to expect but quite happy with excursion! - This was a really lovely trip. It is simple, no frills, but we packed a lot in for 4 hours! The snorkeling was our favorite part. Beautiful reefs, blue starfish beneath us, monkeys on the beach in the distance. Some of the snorkeling equipment didn’t work well, and the life vest for our 12-year-old suddenly snapped open while she was in the water. The boats are loud but get the job done. The cave was so unique. It was crowded but worth seeing. The hike to Amelia Hill was short but quite steep and slippery for our flip flops. But beautiful views. A few other reviewers mentioned the long, rickety dock used to access the boats. It is absolutely not for young kids or the elderly… or anyone that is unsteady on their feet. But it was a bit of an adventure on its own for our family!

A good way to start your morning - Lovely excursion to a quiet reef and cave. No information really about the areas. Kind people and beautiful scenery

Could be better - We went as a family with young kids. The cave is wonderful but can get crowded. Recommend to wear water shoes as the rocks can be uncomfortable to walk on. The snorkeling point was also beautiful but very shallow. There were no warnings or precautions given to the visitors about stepping on the beautiful corals. The corals will definitely not keep its natural beauty after a few years from the constant visits by tourists and accidental breaking of the corals by stepping on them. The locals need to warn the tourists or choose a different deeper location. Finally, at the sunset point you have to hike up the last bit of the mountain. It’s a breathtaking view. Please wear proper shoes as the rocks can be very slippery.
Note that the locals are handling the boat rides and there was an unnecessary mix up at the beginning were visitors were told to get on the boat, then off the boat, then back on the same boat. Some management is needed to manage the guests especially ones with kids. Also, the wooden boats are in rough condition and their manually primed inboard motor is very loud and relatively slow. Recommended to get your own snorkeling gear as their snorkeling sets are not the best - fins are not provided either.

Average - Trip was very average. Pick up was a good 20 minutes over the arranged time. We were driven about 15 minutes from our hotel to a place to catch the small boat. Driver was silent and did not give any information on how day was going to be. Small info on the boat with other guides. The short track to the cave is fine and it's sad to see so much rubbish all over the area. We got to the cave probably 5-10 minutes before it got dark. It was full. Pleasant quick swim but too crowded to be more enjoyable. From there we had a stop for snorkelling which it was nice. Beautiful corals and fish life. Got back to the fishermen village and we were driven to a sunset spot ( which I didn't remember we had and was again not told by the silent driver )
Driver drops you off on the hill and you off. Beautiful sunset from the top of the hill.
In summary trip felt a bit impersonal - not much communication from the start and for the cave swim I would give it a miss if you have swan or visit a cave in another place. Plenty of other day trips with great snorkelling and sunset can be enjoyed from many other places ( for free )

Worst trip I’ve ever experienced - The tour was poor from the time we were picked up and I would never recommend anyone to book this trip.
After introducing myself to the driver who picked us up from our hotel he didn’t even introduce himself or speak the entire 30 minute trip to the boat.
I’m 67 years old and I wasn’t informed how the access into the cave was so difficult.
As for the return to the boat harbour the boat couldn’t take us into shore so we had to climb off the boat and walk through slippery and slimey thick mud that was like quicksand.
My husband slipped and dropped his clothes into the water which included his phone which is now not working.
Due to the disappointment of the experience we asked to be dropped off to our hotel rather than see the sunset as we wanted to wash the mud that covered us
