Worth the trip! - We had a great time. We had already visited Starfish Point during the week on our own, but it was beautiful being back at sunset. We swam in the warm water until dark. Bioluminescence Bay was so magical. We did have to swim under the pontoon boat to really see the effect, but we thought it was totally worth it. Checked this off my bucket list. I would definitely do it again on a night with a dimmer moon, but as someone Said in an earlier post, there are houses surrounding the Bay that contribute to the light.

We had such a great time! - We had such a wonderful time on the Bay Tour! All the staff including the captain and his crew were very courteous. They told everyone about the history of the bay. They offered water to everyone and were very polite and friendly. We highly recommend The Bioluminescent Bay Tour. It was fun and very informative.

Great Tour - Great experience. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, we were still able to see the bioluminescence. Bring and jacket because it gets chilly at night after being in the water.

Coolest experience - They took us to starfish point and on the way we had an amazing sunset. Starfish point was very pretty with very shallow water just a couple feet deep and red/orange sea stars I think cushin stars. Very pretty. That you can touch underwater and hold. My 7 year old Loved it! Then we went to the bio-bay and waited for the light to fade. The boat is a catamaran so you can swim under the boat between the pontoons where it is pitch black and see the bioluminescence so clearly. It is absolutely beautiful. I have done this in Puerto Rico and in Florida and they only let you view by kayak so to be able to have your whole face in the water is absolutely amazing. Bonus is we were the only boat in the bay so it didn’t feel over trafficked. Definitely worth it!! I think because most tourists that visit Grand Cayman come on a cruise ship they have to leave before sunset so not too many people get to experience this here. I loved this tour.

Fun boat tour to see Bioluminescence and Starfish Point - Great trip...saw some Starfish at Starfish Point and bioluminescence activity too. I wasn't stung but we were warned of jellyfish in the water so I didn't want to stay in too long...

Nothing to see from the boat - From the boat you can't see the lights. You have to snorkel. Since I don't snorkel, I wouldn't do it again.

I would definitely look at the moon phase - The trip was nice, but definitely wouldn’t do it again with this company and this moon phase. The staff was not the best, we definitely had a strong language barrier. Also on the way out to starfish point they were doubting we’d even see anything in bioluminescence bay. They were talking about the moon brightness…the only way we could see anything in the water is we had to swim under the boat so it would be darker….that was the only way way we could see anything in the water….also, my daughter is extremely claustrophobic so this wasn’t for her. I wish we’d know it’s extremely difficult to see anything with our current moon phase. Also we were the only charter in the bay that night, so that has me wondering if all the other companies choose not to go out in certain conditions.

Timing is everything! - Having done this excursion prior to this with this same operator, I will say this time was a little disappointing. The excursion prior was AMAZING and that was because of two things this excursion didn’t have…first was an outstanding and fun crew and the other and most importantly, the right timing of the moon. You see, the brighter the moon, the less you see of the bioluminescent effect and the quarter moon during this trip forced us to really only see the bioluminescence under the pontoon boat which was not fun at all compared to when you could freely swim outside the boat and experience the true magic of this phenomenon. While it is still very cool to see, it just wasn’t as mind blowing as it could have been. Lesson learned to be very mindful of what phase the moon is in before booking.

Disappointing. Canceled on us twice in two days - Booked for our second night in cayman and received a text that afternoon asking if we would change to the next day because they would not be doing the tour due to weather (wind I guess). We agreed and canceled our plans for the next evening and scrambled to get a dinner reservation for that night. The next day around 1:00 they texted and asked if we could move another day and I told them we couldn’t because we had another booking. They said they’d see if they could move some other people around. Heard nothing from them until I texted at 2:00 (tour started at 5:30) and asked them to confirm so we could make our plans for the evening. They said they were sorry but didn’t have enough people to run the tour that night and offered me to come Saturday. I told them we were leaving Friday and this was very disappointing since we had no plans for the evening based on what they told me the day before. They said they couldn’t “control the weather”. Fair enough, but that was the reason you couldn’t do the tour on the first night. The reason you decided not to do it the second night was you didn’t have enough people and wouldn’t make the money you wanted. They sent me links to three other operators. I went on all three websites and, not surprisingly, none would allow me to book for two hours later. I told them it would have been nice if they had reached out to one of the other companies (considering they are their competitors leaving from the same dock and surely know one another) which I am confident is what one of my employees would have done. Could have been a win for all three parties. Now we’ll be grabbing pizza for dinner tonight and awaiting my refund in 3-5 business days.
