Additional Information

The Bonneville Salt Flats are a unique geological wonder seen in very few places around the world. We will travel there (1.5 hour drive one-way from Salt Lake City) in a 9 person Van. We’ll share some amazing geological facts about the lake, it’s history and current culture. The expansive wilderness and drive to the Salt Flats is simply incredible. The Salt Flats dry in the summer and typically wet in the winter.
When wet, it’s often calm, sending mirror like reflections of the mountains in the background. And in the dry season we can drive for miles along the pristine flats.

If it’s wet we’ll bring our gum boots and walk out into the flats. The photo opportunities are endless!

Walk: Easy Flat, 1 mile out and back.

Always wanted to see the Salt Flats - Stopped by the Bonneville Salt Flats during our road trip. It was easy to locate and get to. Unfortunately, there was no driving on the flats due to water standing on the area. Heavy snowpack was causing water issues when we visited.

Unique Experience - Seeing the salt flats was a unique experience as there are not many places like this in the world. Blake’s tour was very informative and made the trip worth the experience. Getting to walk out on the salt flats was an experience that you can’t get many places. Blake made sure that he had waters shows for everyone on the tour, even making a special trip to the store morning of the experience. The drive can be quite long but Blake made the trip seem not as long pointing out wildlife and giving information on the area, even stopping to take pictures along the way.

Sun & Salt! Bring some tequila 😉 - Great experience!! The drive is a little long but definitely worth going to see. The guide provided foot wear we needed & had lots of knowledge about the area. My daughter & I enjoyed it and would recommend taking the trip. I feel doing this as a guided tour was very beneficial to the experience vs driving there out there ourselves.

It was a great and unique... - It was a great and unique experience! The flats were flooded but Blake had boots for us. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the sites we passed. He was also helpful and gracious with taking photos of our memorable experience.

Beautiful but no souvenir shop no educational Center no history… just racing car info ☹️ - It was a long drive back and forth for not much over there. It’s beautiful, it’s wide white and crunchy. With dog poop on it (for the ppl wanting to lick it). But sadly they are using it to host races when this place screams wanting to be peaceful. I came to be connecting w the nature and purifying energy… Its sad they let cars race on there. Not much else once you see it… They could have made a little historical Center that shows what it used to be or something… Make it a bit more educational or interesting for kids too

Book it! - It is good to be salty:). Enjoyed the tour and so did my pup! I'm glad I booked the tour with Blake and co. It was much easier to have transportation to the flats from SLC, and learn about the area while traveling. The salt flats are definitely worth seeing, very unique compared to what I would see back in the midwest. This was my second tour with Blake after going to Antelope Island. Another great experience worth booking!
