Highlights
  • Mount Victoria - We stop at Wellington’s most popular lookout point where you will obtain majestic views over the city and harbour.
  • Weta Workshop - Immerse yourself in the magical world of movie making and special effects at the Weta Cave.
  • Massey Memorial - View the majestic memorial and tomb of the resting place of former Prime Minister William Massey and his wife Christina.
  • Scorch O Rama - Lunch and a choice of beverage at this iconic Eastern Bays Cafe.
  • Wahine Memorial - We visit several memorials at Seatoun and Breaker Bay to 51 people who tragically lost their lives on 10 April 1968 from the sinking of the Inter Island Ferry Wahine. In fact a further 2 people were to die after the tragedy as a result of injuries sustained on that fateful day.
  • Ataturk Memorial - We visit the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk memorial, the first President of the Republic of Turkey above Breaker Bay. The memorial looks out over Cook Strait and the site was chosen for its remarkable likeness to the landscape of the Gallipoli Peninsula
in Turkey. The memorial is particularly poignant for Australian, New Zealand and Turkish visitors who commemorate the ANZAC Gallipoli campaign during World War 1.
  • Wellington Wind Turbine - View Wellington’s first wind turbine and take in another majestic view of the city and harbour.
  • Pukeahu National War Memorial Park - Visit the Tomb for the Unknown Solider and pay our respects to all New Zealand service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
  • Wellington Cable Car - Take a ride on Wellington’s long standing, iconic tourist attraction - the Wellington Cable Car.
Your guide will take you to the entry point and then meet you up at your final destination - Kelburn.
  • Lady Norwood Rose Garden - We take a walk through the magnificent Lady Norwood Rose Garden located in the Wellington Botanical Gardens.
When the roses are not in bloom a short walk in the gardens can be taken.
  • New Zealand Parliament - We have a brief walk around the Parliament grounds where your guide will point out the iconic ‘Beehive’, Houses of Parliament and the Parliamentary Library building.
  • Old St Paul’s - Built between 1865 and 1866 Old St Pauls Cathedral is one of the best examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the world. The Cathedral is particularly poignant for American visitors. A large contingent of the American Marine Corp were based in and around Wellington in 1942 and many Marines would attend Sunday services. The American Marine Corp flag and the American national flag of that time with 48 stars hang proudly inside the Cathedral.

The Best of Wellington with Best of Guides - Our day in Wellington was incredible! Tom is a very gracious, knowledgeable and acomadable host who goes above and beyond being a guide! He made our experience memorable, educational, fun and unforgettable. His knowledge of both daily life and the history of Wellington brought the city and area to life. It was a day filled with activities and Tom had everything in order to maximize our visit. The many pictures he took are forever memories of a special day in New Zealand. Thanks for the smiles and memories, Tom. You are the best! Ellen and Dave

Fantastic day, fantastic experience - Dennis was awesome! Very personable and knowledgeable, also flexible. We went from pillar to post, saw so much, learned so much! Had a great meal somewhere along the way at a local eatery. The owner of the company, Tom, checked in along the way. We highly recommend this company if you love the personal touch. Great job, Kaewa Tours!

Forget big group tours and do this one instead! - Tom was a wonderful tour guide and gave us a very positive and fun experience. He managed to fit so much into our very short time in Wellington. It was truly a great choice to get away from the large and impersonal cruise ship tour groups and do something small-scale with just our 3-person group, and Tom was definitely the right choice for that personal experience. Highly recommended! Thank you Tom!
