Extremely professional - Extremely professional. We went 2 days in a row and our instructor, Sammy who has been teaching for 15 years was very careful at the theoretical part. The lesson started with a bit of theory and exercices for pop off then we went in the water. In the water he paid very good attention and noticed our mistakes & kept giving us tips on how to overcome the difficulties we had. On the second lesson he talked to us about the main mistakes we made the previous days and helped us work on them on the shore. When we went in the water we did even better than the previous day. Needless to say that we got up on the board starting the first day. Will be back next year! If you go, ask for Sammy.

Perfect for beginners - Perfect session for two beginners, optimising the time with a little theory beforehand and maximising time in the water. We were appropriately pushed to attempt waves by ourselves within the same session to gain confidence - the teacher was super friendly and the whole vibe great!

Great for every level - We had 2 classes with Santa and it was excellent. Got right up on that board and he was giving all the knowledge and support necessary to make that happen. Cant wait to go again

Fast and furious - We spent three weeks in Weligama and used surf lessons with instructor almost every day. The first lesson was from Ama. "if you are underwater, you don't breathe. If you don't breathe, you die" :-) All instructors have a great sense of humor and it helps a lot to relax on the board (it's 90% of success). Then we studied with Roshan for about 15 lessons. He's incredibly cool guy. Very attentive, calm and always gives accurate advice about your technique. Thanks to him we got on the hardboard already in the 4th lesson, and a week later we conquered the lineup. I hope to come back in next season and continue learning to surf.

Great fun and amazing teacher! - While we had zero previous experience we had an amazing time and learned a lot and all thanks to our great teacher Sippu who we will definitely call up next time we are in Sri Lanka!

Nice 3 days for beginners! - Me and my partner surfed for the very first time in Weligama. For a fair price of 5000 SLR we were very happy to surf with Ama Surf School. After a quick warm up with our teacher Sippu we got in the water catching our first waves. Not only is Weligama Bay perfect to start surfing, but also Ama is the perfect school to do it. 5 out of 5 and a big recommendation!

Most helpful surfcamp in Sri lanka(I was there for 2 month) - Most recommend place in weligama. The people there is so kind and helpful, the managers ama is the most kindly man I saw in my life, which helping to the young locals with working. I went there with my girlfriend, mom, brother and 2 friends and he is really learned them to surf in one day. AMA u r legendary surfer and legendary man!
