- The Park At Ocean Ranch - Your best day in Costa Rica starts when you and your party are picked up at your hotel and delivers you to the 850-acre private river valley and the waterfall called El Encanto. You arrive and are outfitted with the latest in safety harnesses and trained by professional guides to conquer the 180 foot giant. A hike up the trail puts you on top in another world, where you are tethered to the mountain rappelling rope one by one and lead down the series of pools to the bottom and a cheering crowd. There is nothing like the feeling of leaning back into a tropical waterfall while troops of white face monkeys look on. A short hike to the rancho with toucans and macaws leads you to the rancho for fresh pineapple and juices in a Jurassic Park like setting.

Your ultimate day in Costa Rica begins with your group being picked up from your accommodation and taken to the secluded 850-acre river valley, home to the El Encanto Waterfall. Once there, you’re equipped with top-of-the-line safety gear and trained by expert guides to tackle the formidable 180-foot waterfall. A hike up the path transports you to a different realm, where each one of you is attached to a mountain rappelling rope in sequence and guided down a series of pools to the base amid a chorus of cheers. There is truly no equivalent to the sensation of propelling backwards into a tropical waterfall while white-faced monkeys observe you. A brief hike amidst toucans and macaws will take you to the ranch, where you can savor fresh pineapple and juices in a scenery reminiscent of Jurassic Park.

- Please note that tour times and transportation times will be scheduled by Ocean Ranch Park in accordance with availability for your tour date.
- Pick ups/drop off for only one person and/or groups outside of courtesy areas please contact us for transportation quote. Transportation to and from the area of Tarcoles/Punta Leona must be quoted and can be up to $90 additional cost. Transportation to and from Esterillos Este or Oeste can be quoted and can be up to an additional $60.

Amazing waterfall and zip line tour! - I cannot say enough about this tour. We have been lucky to visit Costa Rica 3 Times and many other similar locations around the world. We have zip lined, repelled, mountain bikes and hiked in great places. As my 12 year old adventure-seeking son said, this was among our best excursions so far.
Although this is a very safe tour, it is not for the risk-averse or our of shape. If you go, wear sturdy shoes like hiking boots or Keen’s closed toed shoes.
We started with a beautiful hike up the trail. Fortunately we took breaks along the way to catch our breath while the guides taught us about leaf cutter ants, tattoo ferns.

Best staff - Such amazing staff brought us on a great jungle hike and waterfall rappel. Jesus and Luis were excellent, and so knowledgeable about all the wildlife and bugs in Costa Rica; they even were able to spot a sloth for us all to see!

October excellent adventure! - The staff at Ocean Ranch are phenomenal and professional. Jesus and Luis were my guides for this tour and the rappel was an amazing experience. It was safe, fun, and awesome being in this beautiful ranch. Highly recommended! Most economical way to get here is via uber, fast and direct for solo travelers. WOW! - Holy moly… Where to begin?! This was definitely some thing that was outside of my comfort zone, but I booked it because I knew my 18-year-old son would love it. The guides were super helpful in explaining what to do and what not to do. It’s very intimidating when you look down at 180 foot waterfall! I didn’t realize, or didn’t stop to use common sense, how much arm strength it takes. It took me forever, but I managed to make it all the way down! 😊 I was full of fear, but had a great time nonetheless!

El Encanto Waterfall Rappell - This was my first rappel and the guides were great in explaining what to do. I felt very safe and rappelling two waterfall segments was so much fun. Our son missed the first time we did this due to sickness so we were able to book another rappell with them later in the week. This was the busiest time of year for them but they were very accommodating and we were able to do a second rappell. They even arranged for us to get a ride back to our hotel. Free pineapple was nice too! The truck ride up the mountain to the waterfall was fun too.

Excellent guides and so much fun! - What a great day! Who knew waterfall repelling could be so much fun? Lucy, Julie, and Alex (along with the young dog Lassie) were excellent and ensured we enjoyed the experience. The fresh pineapple at the end was also amazing. Must do this while you're in Playa Hermosa!

More bang for your buck - Ocean Ranch Park provided a friendly, safe, fun, encouraging, educational and supportive environment. I am afraid of heights but with the encouragement and support of the staff, I was rappelling down waterfalls and zip lining through the jungle. They were patient and full of fun. I highly recommend using this Park when you are in Jaco to add a zesty and fun filled day of adventure. As a member of Mercy for Animals, they treated their horses with respect and care one usually doesn't see at places like this. All in all, it was terrific.

This was a whole lot of a new... - <p>This was a whole lot of a new experience to me which I really enjoyed it even tho I was skeptikal but it should be more fun doing so in the beginning or ending of wet season when the water flow is way more than in wats in dry season when I did it but not to much rave. I guess being a rookie was more wise trying it during dry season with safest water flow levels..</p>
