Mida Creek Nature Camp - We’re going to meet at Mida Creek Nature Camp a couple hours before lunch or dinner, depending on the preferences of the group. There we’ll start cooking together to teach you how to prepare an authentic Kenyan meal! Some of our favourite recipes are Ugali, Githeri, Kenyan Pilau, Wali Wa Nazi, Sukuma Wiki, Mchicha, Kenyan Stew, Nyama Choma, Matoke, Mandazi and Grilled Maize; every lesson we’ll try something different picking dishes from Kenyan tradition, but we’re certainly open to request!
My wife will be the main teacher but all the family is going to partecipate.
Then , when the food will be ready, you can bring it home with you or, as we prefer, eat it along with us!
The Camp is a wonderful frame for this experience as you’ll be truly immersed in nature while cooking on a campfire with traditional techniques and tools.
We try to use all homegrown ingredients, we also have a small shop at the camp from where we can supply what’s missing.
You can contact us prior the starting of the experience to communicate possible allergies and intolerances you have and also to agree upon special dishes that you’d love to try.
