Good tour despite somewhat large group size - Tyrell was an engaging and entertaining guide. We had a long delay waiting outside the entrance to the Library of Congress but other than that the tour was smooth and reasonably informative.

Guide great, too crowded - The description said max 36 people but it was more like 65-70. Lots of waiting around for guide to get tickets, herd everyone together, split us up for certain things, then wait for other group to rejoin etc. Guide was fantastic, if just rating on him it would get 5 stars. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. However, I would not do again because the crowding was unbearable.

DON’T BOOK THIS! - Both the Capitol and Library of Congress provide EXCELLENT guided tours for FREE (take your own headphones/earbuds to LoC). Timed entry can be pre-booked online or you can walk up and get same day tickets. I got same day short notice tickets for FREE at both locations when my tour guide failed to respond to my messages (reply to his text and through the Viator app) regarding the meet up location. This tour group is terrible at communicating. Many reviews mention the same. I travel a lot and have never left a bad review, but this was a costly mistake I hope to help others avoid.

Terrible & disorganized - It's unfortunate, all other tours we have booked were wonderful. We will continue to work with Viator as they were a reputable 3rd party. The company that hosted the tour was signature DC tours. They text 10:30 at night with confusing instructions and didn't text again till 5 minutes prior to the start which then was delayed because the tour guide was 45 minutes late. Because she was late she didn't explain anything but said you have 5-6 minutes to run upto the capitol to get a picture and then we had to rush inside. She showed us the bathroom! Then rushed through to the library of congress where we made it through the tunnel with 4 minutes to spare (we literally were running). Then she sat down and told us her perception of the "guady" library (her words). She said I leave you here and we had 22 minutes till the library closes - go look around! Ridiculous that they didn't provide a refund for such a terrible experience and cutting the tour short. Never use signature DC tours...oh, when they texted they even spelled their name wrong.
