Great value and excellent tour! - The bus driver and tour guide were very friendly and informative. As we were guided around Mount Vernon and Old Town Alexandria, we really learned a lot of details that we wouldn’t have picked up on our own. Remember, this tour also included the ticket purchase to get into Mount Vernon. Highly recommended!

My Vernon was great. ... - My Vernon was great. Wish I had a bit more time to wander the grounds. I really enjoyed the stop at Christ Church. The woman who gave us a 10 minute talk was amazing.

General Washington - Loved our bus tour, our tour guide ( somehow I have forgotten his name but the driver that day was Antonio) was very knowledgeable and really brought you into the information by retelling some personal stories. At Mount Vernon we toured the grounds and the residence. At the residence/ gift shop we were able to choose from a few different venues for an appropriate and tasty bite to eat. Spacious area for eating where you can choose to eat on the patio or enclosed inside. As for the tour content, no spoilers from us, but suffice to say that it was a very rich life, both professionally and privately. I think the reason Washington resonates with so many people around the world is that his biography appeals to our better nature. He was who we all wish we could be.

Great way to tour Mt Vernon - This tour provided a great way to visit Mt Vernon. The tour bus was comfortable, and the guide was very informative as we drove through Old Town Alexandria and while we were traveling to and from Mt Vernon. Once we arrived at Mt Vernon, we toured the estate with information provided by the docents there.

Great guide and tour! - We had a great guide, Brittany, who made the trip informative and refreshing. She was well prepared and had tans of historical knowledge that helped us understand the context of Mount Vernon. The tour at Mount Vernon was perfect in its timing and content. The only recommendation is to inform the guests that there is an alternative to the cafeteria. There is actually a very nice restaurant where you can order off a menu with great sounding salads and entrees. The cafe leaves a lot to be desired. We wish we knew about the restaurant!! But be sure to spend some time in the museum. It also has great historical information....

Odd juxtaposition - Very interesting. Visitor buildings, cafe etc very modern but the poor old main attraction seemed to suffer from tourist wear and in some places a strange lack of investment/care. Good tour staff.

Hearing the history of Mt... - Hearing the history of Mt Vernon, the good and the bad. It was also very special to sit in the pew that George Washington sat in at Christ's Church. Our tour guide, Dionne, was exceptional and knowledgeable and our driver was very helpful also.

Educational and comprehensive - The tour was great with many additional stops, and Terri provided excellent information at each. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see Mount Vernon and learn more about Alexandria and our first president.

Bumpy and noisy bus - Unfortunately, the bus ride was very noisy with constant rattling that was so loud we couldn’t hear the tour guide. We were at the back of the bus, but the ticket price is the same, so I still expect a comfortable ride and tour. The seat belt didn’t work which I really needed since I literally caught air multiple time with the bumpy road and speed of the drive. (Teenagers liked it since they like roller coaster rides.) The tour at Mount Vernon was very nice. I’d recommend finding a better mode of transportation so you can enjoy the tour guide’s information along the drive as well.
