This camp is considered as a place where the number of killed prisoners is estimated between 700-900.000, what makes this camp the second most important German wartime extermination center, right after Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp. In 2006, there was founded Treblinka Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom which commemorates victims of this terrifying genocide.
