A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hadrian’s Wall, represents the boundary of the Roman Empire. Spanning across 80 Roman miles, it traverses diverse terrains. Through our four-hour guided tour, we will explore Segedunum, the fort at the eastern end of the wall. The fort exhibits excellent recreations of the Roman lifestyle, offering you insight into this fierce yet innovatively artistic civilization that ruled a large portion of the known globe.
Our tour commences at the fort of Segedunum, currently known as Wallsend. We will subsequently visit the Great North Museum located in Newcastle, home to an impressive collection of Roman artifacts in the British North.
Our tour is designed for those passionate about history, keen to delve into the Roman influence on the city life of Newcastle and Tyneside.
