Highlights
  • Snowdonia - During the day you will have opportunities to learn how to lead climb, rescue techniques and how to stay safe while traditional climbing. You will be ropes up with your guide the entire time and will be able to learn and enjoy new climbing location under the safe supervision of the instructor.

The day will start at the pre-planned meeting point where we will pack the correct kit for the day and depart for the climbing experience.

The approach to the climbing can vary on the location and your abilities, but generally it’s between 15 and 60 minutes. Once at the start of our climb we will cover some basic climbing principles and then tie into ropes to begin the ascent.

Once on the climb itself, it is fairly straight forward as we make our way to the top of the rock feature which presents fantastic views of mountains like Mt Snowdon, tarns (small mountain lakes) and countryside.

Along the way we can cover climbing skills such as how to place protection, how to build anchors and abseil safely. Some locations require us to abseil to reach the bottom again but other times we may summit a mountain peak before hiking back down.

What's Included
  • All necessary climbing gear included (helmets, harnesses, and technical equipment)
What's Not Included
  • Lunch
  • Technical climbing shoes if you want to tackle hard climbs.

Additional Information

Every booking is tailored specifically to you; we develop a mountain adventure based on your objectives and physical fitness. This allows us to customize a package that caters to your requests, be they heart-pumping abseils or multi-pitch rock climbing adventures.

The distinct aspect of this activity is the opportunity to traverse regions of Snowdonia that are seldom explored by hikers or tourists. Numerous routes lead to the peak of Mt Snowdon (the tallest mountain in Wales) and if you’re one who doesn’t fear heights, we recommend the most thrilling path!

During our ascent in North Wales, we’ll be installing all safety gear along the course as we progress. This implies that we’re toting everything that’s required. There’ll be no prior-placed protective equipment. The climbing style employed here is known as ‘traditional rock climbing’.

Location
Eryri National Park (Snowdonia)
We meet at the location planned depending on the goals, weather and itinerary. This may be in the Ogwen valley or llanberis. It could also be parts of Anglesey or any crags in Snowdonia. This gives us lots of flexibility to choose the right location depending on your needs and abilities.

Great day out in Snowdonia climbing Dolmen Ridge! - Our first trip out with Tom was to Snowdonia, to scramble and climb Dolmen Ridge, a route we hadn’t done before. Tom came recommended to us by a friend and we had a fabulous day out. We had to change the day due to bad weather but he was very flexible and made our chosen route happen! We scrambled Dolmen Ridge, up to Glyder Fach and down Bristly Ridge. We found him very professional, prepared, patient and everything was well explained to us and we both felt safe throughout the day. We look forward to more climbing days out in the future with Tom.
