Highlights

The best of both deserts from the comfort of our 4x4

Jebel Khazali - Khazali canyon is very popular as it is home to some of the best petroglyphs in the region, illustrating over 12000 years of occupation in the region, ranging from stone age depictions of lions and elephants to modern day arabic of pilgrims to Mecca.

Further in, you reach a section that rapidly steps up into a series of basins and dry waterfalls. It creates a challenging adult playground!

We’ll then to the first rock bridge of the day: Little bridge.

Burdah Rock Bridge - Burdah Bridge is famous for its 35m high natural arch formation. It is one of the highest arch structures in the world. The trek is 300 m above sea level and takes roughly 2.5 hours. But that’s part of another desert adventure! Here, we will stop for about 15 minutes to take pictures and walk around.

We’ll then visit another canyon: Abu Khashaba canyon. You will walk through the narrow canyon, which will take you about 45 minutes, and I’ll meet you on the other side.

Wadi Rum Protected Area - We will then take you to Umm Fruth rock bridge.

Best seen in the late afternoon light, Umm Fruth Rock Bridge is tucked away in a remote corner of the desert and can be easily climbed without gear.

Wadi Rum Protected Area - We’ll then head towards the red sand dune, a very popular attraction for kids who love running down and try their hand at sandboarding. So bring out the child in you!

Wadi Rum Protected Area - After lunch, we’ll head towards the white part of Wadi Rum desert. Situated on the border with Saudi Arabia, that untouched part of Wadi Rum offers amazing open views.
And we will finish with a beautiful sunset from a unique spot.

Sunrise

Wadi Rum Village - On the second day, we will enjoy the sunrise, eat breakfast and have a nice cup of tea.
Then I’ll take you back to your camp or to the village.

fabulous wadi rum experience - Rakan providers a wonderful experience. Both the Jeep tour with his cousin and the full day climbing with his brother were extraordinary. The climbing equipment is excellent and as a climbing instructor I can vouch that all the safety procedures are up to spec. Both the night in the camp and the night in a cave were wonderful, with very welcoming and friendly hosts, comfortable beds, and excellent food. Rakan is super fast in responding to emails and WhatsApp messages and flexible to accommodate whatever was needed. Extremely highly recommended!

Top tier Bedouin hospitality and incredible experiences - I would highly recommend Rakan and his team for experiencing Wadi Rum. Rakan was a very good and clear communicator leading up to our stay, and he and all of his team were also very friendly and welcoming on our arrival/throughout our experiences. We did 2hrs of rock climbing, which we were beginners at, and felt a little apprehensive about especially when we saw the rock face to climb - however our guide was very encouraging and helpful and has us feeling much more confident and comfortable in no time. We also did a half day jeep tour, which was stunning. I thought that maybe after 1 hour we would have seen a lot of the same rocks and sand and 3 more hours might be just more of the same, but there are so many different formations to see, lookout points, canyons to walk through, and we were even shown a Bedouin dam which still had rainwater in it. For us, the dinner was also a highlight as it was truly delicious and it was interesting to see the traditional techniques to make it. Rakan's camp also has a number of interesting books and games which were well used the night we were there. And of course, so many cups of tea! Overall we would not change a thing and had a brilliant time.
