Embark on a day-long journey to explore Jordan’s most renowned and breathtaking site - Petra. Recognized as one of the seven world wonders and a world heritage site, Petra was sculpted from red rose rocks by the Arab Nabataeans nearly two millennia ago, making it a truly unique global treasure. Situated approximately 236 kilometers south of Amman, it can be reached with a comfortable three-hour drive. The prosperity of the Nabataeans, who created Petra, is evident in the grandeur of their monuments. Their wealth stemmed from controlling key trade routes, which allowed them to participate in commerce with the entire ancient world. This exposure to various prominent civilizations influenced their architectural styles, as visible in many of their monuments. In addition to its awe-inspiring, rock-carved edifices, Petra also boasts diverse colorful sandstone mountains and magnificent rock formations. A trip to Petra offers an experience that defies description and is truly a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
