Transport to another time & place ! - We booked a private tour thru Viator, and had the pleasure of spending an amazing day with our awesome guide Nayely. Ripped straight from the pages of Tolkien, what a spectacular and unexpected gem of a destination high in the mountains ⛰️ above the city of Antigua. Fashioned after The Shire of Lord of the Rings lore, it was so much more. The views, unrivaled. The rope swing, exhilarating. The air was fresh, but thin. Exotic flowers 🌸& birds 🦜 abound, and the sound of silence a welcome change. We even tried our hand at archery 🏹 No need to travel to New Zealand to feel like you’re in Middle Earth, epic !

A must do - Carolina was great. There was a language barrier but even so, she helped me with my Spanish and I helped her with English. There were no issues when it came to communicating. Such a beautiful experience and amazing photos. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views, a must visit - Our guide was Carolina (Spanish speaking only) and she was very warm and friendly. Our two year old fell asleep at the end of the tour, and she helped carry him around for us. Hobbitenango and Altamira have a lot of walking with a lot of stairs so keep that in mind depending on your activity level. Our kids are 4 and 2 years old and we had to carry them a lot while getting around. Not ideal, but we really wanted to check this out (still worth it). Hobbitenango was very misty and cloudy with limited views, but still really cool to experience. Altamira was so sunny and clear and breathtaking.

A must do, if you are in Guatemala 🇬🇹 - My day trip to Hobbitenango was AMAZING!!! It’s such an awe inspiring place, with tons of great views that you will never get tired of looking at. Carolina was my guide (ask for her) She was so patient with me, and the other lady that was also on the trip. Carolina took such amazing photos of me. Literally, just hand her your phone, and she works magic!!! Be prepared for a lot of walking, but you can go at your own pace and take breaks. This was the highlight of my trip to Guatemala (Antigua) and I would absolutely book it again.

Amazing Experience - I absolutely enjoyed this tour. The tour was in Spanish but Carolina was absolutely amazing and super helpful. She took the best pictures and even taught me some Spanish. Carolina was very nice & personable and made sure I got to see everything Hobbitenango & Altamira had to offer. Thank you again !

Great experience! - Carolina was awesome! I am so out of shape (lol) and she was so patient and kind. This is a Spanish speaking tour, however, it was a great opportunity to brush up on my beginners Spanish. Great photo ops. I had a chance to take a picture with Gandalf at Cafe del mago. It's a lit if walking but tge experience was worth it.

The view - Our guide was great. He went with the flow of what we wanted to do and gave us tips on how to make the visits more efficient. Also, got to know more about Guatemala as well! The views from these two places are some of the best I have seen!

It was amazing and the views of Antigua is truly incredible. - I had such a beautiful day, all thanks to Carolina. I know her English is minimal but she was extremely patient with me and make sure that I went to all the pretty view sites. Thanks for capturing all these great photos of me. I was able to see all the hands in both parks.

Great place to visit but wouldn't pay for the same tour guide again - Hobbitenango is beautiful - I can't say enough good words about it. We loved it there and were very disappointed to learn we were only allotted 1- 1/2 hours there. I would never use the same tour guide, though. I felt like he was trying to rush us through so he could get home....he always walked ahead of us and would walk past attractions I wanted to take pictures of but felt I couldn't because he was so far ahead of us. He never once offered to take a picture of the two of us (we were the only 2 people on the tour) so we had to try and find others to help us. And at the end of the tour, as we were walking past people selling souvenirs, he never once offered us any time to look at what they were selling; once again, he just kept walking and we needed to keep up.
