Highlights
  • Vossevangen - Voss is a municipality in Vestland county, and the administrative center is the village of Vossevangen. Voss is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast-flowing whitewater rivers. This has led to its development as a notable center of skiing, watersport, skydiving, paragliding and other adventure sports. Every year in the last week of June the area hosts the Ekstremsportveko (Extreme Sports Week), which is regarded as the world’s premier extreme sport festival. Bømoen, the local airstrip, is home to Skydive Voss, one of the largest dropzones in Norway, as well as a gliding club. The rivers provide various levels of white water, attracting kayaking, rafting and river boarding. Kite surfing and para-bungee may be seen on lake Vangsvatnet. The ski area, to the north of the town, is accessible via a cable car, Voss Gondol.

Additional Information

Upon collection from Bergen, our adventure to Gudvangen begins. In the sunnier seasons, we traverse through Stalheimskleiva, a road stretch of 1.5 km that snakes its way down Nærøydalen from Stalheim. Having arrived in Gudvangen, we step aboard the electric vessel ‘Future of the Fjords’ on route to Flåm. The towering mountains surrounding the Nærøyfjord serve as a majestic backdrop in both summer and winter.

Once in Flåm, our journey proceeds with a ride on the Flåm Railway, one of the steepest railways globally on standard tracks. This 20 km train trip lasts an hour. The train switches at Myrdal station to the Bergen Railway, from where we traverse through the Hardangervidda National Park all the way to Oslo. The package includes a private vehicle, local guide fluent in English, the fjord cruise, and train rides on the Flåm and Bergen Railways, concluding at Oslo Central Station.

Easy way to experience these great sights - Being picked up at our hotel and guided through each of these experiences is a stress free way to truly enjoy these sights! Paul was an excellent guide who was punctual and attended to all our needs. It was nice to do this on our own and not be part of a large group. We stopped along the way when we wanted and to see some beautiful scenes. We were guided to the cruise and picked up afterwards. Paul helped find a nice lunch spot before sending us off on the Flam. Nice train ride with beautiful scenery. We were not prepared fir the cold at the top. Our fault. Also the train ride to Oslo was loooooonnnnggggg. 6 hours. Good seats but bring a good book or something to do.
