Saigon to Long Tan with Tony - An insightful and factual journey through Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War, told in Tony’s signature no-nonsense style. His depth of knowledge was exceptional, and the way he used visual aids and historical photos to connect past and present brought everything to life. Visiting the memorial was a deeply moving experience, made even more special by Tony’s thoughtful gesture of playing the Australian anthem. Lunch at a local café was also excellent. Many thanks to Tony and our driver for an unforgettable day.

A Must-Do for Australians - We’ve just returned from an incredible day with Tony, a former Vietnamese soldier. Tony was incredibly informative, and we felt truly fortunate to have him as our guide. Visiting the monument and exploring the area where our Australian soldiers once stood was a deeply moving experience. Thank you so much, Tony.

Excellent Tour Experience - Mr. Dao was an outstanding tour guide, highly knowledgeable about all aspects of the Vietnam War. Having a Vietnam veteran as our guide made the experience even more meaningful. Visiting the Long Tan Cross was a deeply moving moment. Standing amidst the rubber plantation, just as the soldiers once did, was a powerful experience. We also visited the old runway near Nui Dat and the remains of the helicopter landing pad that once accommodated dozens of choppers, it was truly fascinating. Although much of the area has been reclaimed by local farmers, a bit of imagination helped bring the history to life. The Long Phuoc tunnels offered a unique experience, very different from the Cu Chi tunnels. These tunnels are significantly larger, you can stand upright while walking through them. We explored a 100-meter stretch, encountering bats and hidden shooting posts along the way. A fantastic tour overall, highly recommended!

Long Tan - Thanks, Tony. It was truly fascinating to hear about what happened at Long Tan, how it unfolded, the numbers involved, and what remains today. Hearing it from someone who experienced the war firsthand made the account feel much more accurate and meaningful.

Long Tan and Nui Dat with Mr. Dao! - My mum and I had a fantastic time with Mr. Dao. We stopped for coffee on the way while he kindly picked up flowers for us to lay at the Australian memorial. At the site, we paid our respects and learned a great deal from Mr. Dao about Vietnamese life post-war and the country’s views on all nations involved. We also visited the site of the former Australian base camp, where only the airstrip remains alongside a kindergarten built by the Australians for the local community. Mr. Dao was funny, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. It was a wonderful private tour completely tailored to us, with no rushing at all. Highly recommend!

A Meaningful Journey Through History - Our guide, Mr. Dao, was very knowledgeable being a veteran himself. Some of our conversations gave me a sense of peace and perhaps even a bit of closure. If you're considering this tour, please note that the bunkers at Nui Dat have been demolished. It's true what they say: while many never made it home, for those who did, home was never the same. While I see Vietnam striving to move beyond its bloody past through progress, I, for one, will never forget. RIP.

Long Tan & Nui Dat Battlefield - As an Australian Army veteran, I was eager to explore this tour. It turned out I was the only participant that day, so it became a private experience which made it even more special. The guide provided thoughtful insights and shared meaningful stories throughout the journey. I also enjoyed some great local food along the way. The tour concluded with a drop-off at the War Remnants Museum. A memorable and well-organized experience, thank you!

Great private tour with best guide. - This was a private tour for me and my wife. We were picked up from our hotel be Nam our guide who led us to the car with driver. The car was modern clean and water was supplied. Enroute to our destination Nam Stopped to buy two lots of flowers for us to pay our respect to the fallen soldiers of The 6th Battalion which i also served in B Company who had been relieved by the famous D Company. We were taken to our first stop which was some unknown tunnels not yet open to the general public. They were very amazing. Whilst there we got to use villiage restrooms and they were new and clean. From there we moved onto the Lon Tan battle site and replica cross memorial. Once we paid our respects and laid the flowers our guide gave us plenty of knowledge about how things went in the battle which was very brutal. As we left the site we saw only one other person. A young Aussie guy on a motor bike there to pay his respect. Great to see. Proud moment. Onto the site of 6RAR Headquarters where the flagpole mount still remains with a plaque. We also laid flowers here as a mark of respect. We left this area to go to the site of the old airstrip which is the villiage centre. Then to SAS Hill. Home to the SAS and choppers at the base with the Quarry. Then back to Ho Chi Minh for a fresh lunch. Our guige Nam was very knowledgible and friendly. He was proffessional and dressed very smartly. We enjoyed the time with him. I reccommend the tour to anyone. Lest we forget.

Very Disappointed - The way this trip is portrayed by Trip Adviser is not how it is in reality. Our tour guide was a nice fella, but the itinerary is very disappointing, although it is accurate word for word in truth it is not. The tunnel is very sanitized not a true reflection of the hardships encountered by Australian forces or how tough the Vietnamese had it, it was a quick walk through with very little commentary. Nui Dat base? There is nothing at all to suggest any activity military/history here except a road being built through the hill. The so called Long Tan monument had no information at all, no names, of the 18 Australians who died , nothing at all, no signage at all. This was not a cheap day at $178Aussie and very disappointing. There are definitely better tours, this is advertised as less touristy and more personal.. That's rubbish, that's why it's less touristy.
