Highlights
  • Palea Kameni - Palea Kameni is a volcanic island within the Santorini Caldera. The island was formed by a series of volcanic eruptions that formed large deposits of pumice and dacite.
  • Nea Kameni - Nea Kameni is a small uninhabited island of volcanic origin located within the flooded Santorini caldera. It have formed over the past two millennia through repeated eruptions of dacite lava and ash. We stop for lunch nearby.
  • Red Beach - Red Beach is a volcanic sand beach located near Akrotiri. The beach is famed for its titular red-hued sand, and is one of the most scenic and interesting beaches on the island. We make a short stop for swimming there if the wind allow.
  • White Beach - White Beach is one of the most remarkable and special beaches in Santorini. It is white pebbled surrounded by white towering cliffs that form a beautiful, small cove and provide partial shade.
  • Mesa Pigadia Beach - Mesa Pigadia is a small, quiet beach surrounded with spectacular rocks. There is also a cave that leads to White Beach for the adventurous travellers. It’s the best spot for swimming with dark blue, crystal-clear water.
  • Vlychada Beach - Our cruise begins and finishes in Vlychada, quiet village noted for the black-pebble Vlichada Beach, backed by wind-sculpted, volcanic cliffs. Contemporary exhibitions are held at the Santorini Arts Factory, and the Tomato Industrial Museum features vintage equipment and machinery used in the tomato-canning industry.
  • Akrotiri Lighthouse - Akrotiri Lighthouse is a 19th-century lighthouse on the Greek island of Santorini. The lighthouse was built by a French company in 1892, making the lighthouse one of the oldest in Greece. We will see it from the water on our way to Caldera.

Don’t think about it, just do it. - We did this to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a fantastic time with the other guests and the crew. Would absolutely recommend to anyone considering this experience as everything was well done from prompt pick up, overall sailing, great food and cold drinks.

AMAZING ADVENTURE!! - The trip was fantastic! The crew were very friendly, attentive, and had many interesting stories to share. The food was so delicious and plentiful! The stops to swim and snorkel added much fun to the trip. The weather on the water was beyond perfect even though it was hot on land. We would definitely recommend the trip to others!

Amazing Experience Highly Recommend - Amazing experience. Started off with being picked up from our hotel (which we were messaged the day before, with pick up times) which was great. We were warmly welcomed onto the boat by Chris the captain and Marieangela. The boat is lovely and clean with plenty of space for us to either sit at the back or the front. The maximum amount of people is 10, however we were lucky and there was only 8 of us, which gave us a little extra room! We stopped 3 times for some short swimming and snorkelling opportunities, while being told about the surroundings by Marieangela. The lunch was massive with plenty of prawns, spaghetti, potatoes, vegetables etc to go around. Very nice. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend going via Barca sailing. The only thing I thought was maybe we would stop at the hot springs ? It did seem busy around the area, but it did not make the trip any less worth it ! Thanks Joe

The loveliest boat cruise with friendly people - We were a party of three – mum and two daughters – who booked this semi-private experience, and it was the highlight of our trip to Santorini. On the boat there were nine people in total, plus Captain George and Maria Angela. They were both amazing and knowledgeable and they cooked up the most delicious meal on board that we all enjoyed so much. George's commentary on the passing scenery was entertaining and enjoyable and there were a couple of swim stops as well. There are swimming aids if you need them, I used them and really enjoyed my dip in the cold Aegean sea! The last part of the journey was a very relaxed and sleepy cruise back to Vlychada and to be dropped off back at the hotel. If you're in two minds if to do this cruise, I'd say DO IT DO IT DO IT, it's the best part of the whole trip.

Highlight of our Trip! - We had an absolutely fantastic morning sailing with Yiannis and George. The boat is beautiful, the food was great and we really appreciated the great commentary and information provided along the way. We were celebrating a birthday and they went out of their way to make it extra special by providing a birthday cake and joining in on the celebration. It was the highlight of our trip to Santorini.

Fantastic sailing day - We had a fantastic time with Barca Sailing. Captain Yiannis and mate Jorgos were amazing hosts, playing music, pouring drinks and cooking us a fabulous lunch. They also told us lots about the island and even offered us a chance to sail the boat! The day started out with a transfer from our hotel in Perissa straight to Vlychada to start the cruise, which was included with the price we paid on Viator. There were only 7 guests in total on our boat, which meant a super friendly atmosphere and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We had a few breaks for swimming and managed to avoid a lot of the larger catamarans for the most part that we’re all departing and returning all at once. My husband and I did 2 Catamaran trips last year in Santorini, which thankfully were only half full due to Covid restrictions. This year, I noticed that all of the catamarans were packed! So I’m so happy that we picked Barca sailing as an alternative, to have a small friendly group, fantastic service and plenty of room on board, not to mention the amazing views from within the caldera and actually getting to switch off the engines and sail towards the volcano.

Awesome sailing trip around Santorini - Great experience seeing the beaches and caldera! There are many options for sailing - this one was very chill (8 guests, minimal fuss about rules, relatively simple logistics). George and Antonio did a great job sailing, preparing lunch, and pouring drinks. The highlight was diving off the boat and swimming in the caldera. George was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide - a local just sharing stories and experiences. More time under sail would have been ideal (hence the 4 stars), but overall this was great.
