Additional Information

Vök Baths, a geothermal haven, is situated on the picturesque Lake Urriðavatn in East Iceland. Just 5-kilometres northwest from Egilsstaðir, the primary settlement in the region, is an unmissable destination on a tour to this area.

Using the geothermal energy of the location, Vök Baths presents an extraordinary bathing retreat with breathtaking views of the lake and its surroundings. Submerge yourself in the distinct and pristine Icelandic landscape and become part of nature in the country’s inaugural series of geothermal floating pools.

Distinct from any other thermal spring destination in Iceland, the hot water is of such excellent quality that it’s certified as drinkable. East Iceland has relatively fewer hot springs compared to the rest of the country, making Vök Baths a must-see attraction! Spend a day of indulgence at this picturesque spot—Vök Baths in Egilsstadir. Ensure your entry and avoid long queues by pre-booking your admission.

Relaxing Soak in a Peaceful Setting - Beautiful setting and, unlike the Blue Lagoon, you can get your hair wet. Birds all around, we even saw a loon. I also enjoyed jumping in the cold lake after warming up in the hottest of the pools. I do wish they had a bathing suit spinner, that was the only negative in my opinion (my husband wanted a better beer selection)

We love - Icelandic baths are always great. The infrastructure is superb and what a pleasure to be in swimming pools at 40 degrees outside. Access to the lake and water at a few degrees...good for revitalizing...for a few seconds. Steam bath, bar accessible from the pools, tea offered at the exit.

Magical! - We had already visited the Blue Lagoon on our arrival into Iceland which was an amazing experience. But we absolutely loved Vok Baths. What made it so special I think was not only the 3 different pools at different temperatures but the infinity pool. We were enjoying the gorgeous warm water, on the very edge of the frozen lake, with a glass of wine while it was snowing! It was absolutely magical. Well organised, staff were welcoming and lovely facilities. If I lived there I would be going every day!!

3 Pools of Fun - Incredible thermal baths in the heart of Iceland. All 3 pools vary in temperature and it's fun to jump in the lake to cool off!

To do - A peaceful place, in a beautiful setting, ideal for relaxing. Clean changing rooms, quality products in the showers (Soley, Icelandic brand). Baths at different temperatures and the possibility of swimming in the lake. A pleasant relaxing break for a reasonable price.

Vok Nature Baths - We visited Vok Baths halfway through our Ring Road Itinerary and the experience was amazing. Very lovely setting with multiple pools of different temperatures and a kid-friendly area which was great since we traveled with a toddler. Right next to the lake so you can jump in to cool off, beautiful setting and very clean Clean and private showers and nicely set up changing areas. I would definitely go back. Not overly crowded and very relaxing

Three Pools are Nice - There are 3 different pools, each with a bit warmer than the next. The water levels seemed a bit low to me. The views were nice overlooking the water and mountains. For some reason, the water just felt dirty to me. Note that you do need to bring your own towel and flip flops.

Staff were rude and dismissive - We visited a tourist attraction as tourists to experience something local. It was assumed we had been there before and that we knew the process. Staff were annoyed when we asked for assistance and explanation of the facility. The baths were great, we spent several hours there and tried all the different areas. It was a shame the experience was spoilt by the staffs disinterest, they are after all benefiting by tourists visiting
