Relaxed way to experience port wine and fado music - After enjoying the sunset and views of Porto across the Douro river, we strolled down to Calem cellars for a tour and tasting. Everything was done in a very friendly and professional way. As we sipped two glasses of port wine, we listened to some carefully curated Fado music performed by two highly skilled guitarists and both a male and a female singer. We also had the opportunity to purchase bottles of port. Although the show was a tad touristy, overall we felt relaxed and that our experience was the best of the best!

Really great tasting and loved the fado. The cellars were very well set up for tourists. It was very well done - I would have rated 5 but the lady giving out tickets on reception was quite rude and dismissive. Shame our trip was spoilt by her rudeness

The Fado was wonderful and the tour was enlightening. - We had difficulty hearing our host,(even around the barrels) a microphone would have helped. We had expected the speaker to come to the back of the room to repeat what was said, but to no avail.

So-so-so - It was quite nice, but more like mass processing. Based on the pictures, I had expected a more intimate atmosphere in the wine cellar, but instead it felt like there were 100 people in a room above the cellar. Port - white and red - was served, no further explanation of what was special about these two ports. Fado was quite nice, but we had seen better ones in Lossabon

Very enjoyable experience - It was a very enjoyable experience overall. The visit through the caves was interesting and instructive. The Fado show was wonderful. I feel that it could have been better if there had been a bit more food with the wine testing. I felt that 4 crackers was a bit cheap. It could have been a small cheese plate, or charcuterie plate with crackers. It would have been significantly better as it was 7:00pm

The Fado wasn't the best, but the port tasting was worth it - The "visit" of the Calem wine cellars was neat, but was much longer than I thought it would it be. It was more of a "tour" than a visit. The port was exquisite, including their white port. Will definitely be looking to see if we can find it back home. The Fado was not the best. I'm not sure what was happening with the singers, but both were coughing through the songs. When they weren't coughing, the songs were "just ok". I'm sure you can hear better Fado elsewhere in Porto or Lisbon. But the wine tasting was worth it.

Average - The visit in the winecellar was disappointing and the guide was kind of rude and his English was not that good. The fado was ok, but it was not as good as a fado in a local restaurant.

Lovely music and port wine but too many tourists would not sit quietly and listen to the performers - Lovely performance but disappointed that the guide did not stay as she could have dealt with the rude and disrespectful tourists who wouldn’t stop talking and texting on their phones which was really distracting. Also the tables were set up in a way that the performers rarely faces my side of the room so I felt a little ignored.

An hour that was just ok - This was an ok experience for a cheap price. The show itself was good but only two tastings wasn’t ideal for the 45 min length of the show. Also a bit ruined by all the people talking and taking flash photos. Not a fault of the tour or venue but you can probably get a better fado experience at a restaurant with live fado music. I also think this show focused more on the singers than the fado player who was elevated to the background.
