OCEANEYEAZORES 5⭐ - I can say that it was one of the most incredible experiences we had as a family last year. We offered our son the opportunity to go boating and diving. We loved the explanations about the historical facts, which Mr. Edmundo, the boat captain, told us, it was clear that he knows a lot and loves what he does and above all he welcomed us very well. I say this and it is good to point out that often we Azoreans are left out in our own land, because tourism is what is "booming" and they are given other attention and here that was not the case. We were three Azoreans among ten tourists. Thanks to this trip, my son was more certain that he wants to be a marine biologist. I highly recommend having an incredible and safe experience with Oceaneyeazores. Good luck to everyone and who knows, maybe there will be another ride this year.

Super nice educational experience - It was a great experience, almost exclusive to us. The two guides explained everything in detail: flora, fauna, geology, history. The skipper added many lovely anecdotes. The tour is a "must" for visitors to the beautiful island. Thank you very much!

Snorkel an Ancient Volcano! - My friend and I had a wonderful experience with OceanEye Azores. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and really enhanced our boat tour and snorkeling excursion. The glass-bottom boat that takes you out on the water is unique and interesting. There were several children on our tour, and they were very delighted to be able to look through the bottom of the boat and see the abundant fish. The boat will stop near the island of an ancient volcano and the guide will explain the different species of fish and other various marine life. We toured around the island, taking in some exception views of the island, with more interesting history being explained. The highlight of the trip was the snorkeling. We were all free to snorkel for at least an hour, maybe more. The volcanic rock around the island is home to many species of fish, and it was delightful to snorkel and swim among them. The water is spectacularly clear, and perfect for snorkeling and diving. Our group had such a fun and wonderful trip, and I highly recommend to anyone seeking an exciting and fascinating water activity in the Azores. Thank you to everyone at OceanEye Azores! Obrigado!

AMAZING TOUR - I cannot say enough good things about this experience! My sister and I were travelling Portugal for a month and this was by far my favourite experience. Both tour guides were phenomenal and super knowledgeable. The lady that guided our tour taught us so much about the species of fish we saw and about the Islet. The man that took us in the water snorkelling was also awesome and pointed out many cool thing underwater for us to see including a sea cucumber that be picked up to show us! There was only 4 of us total on this tour so it felt very special ! We actually went over the time of our tour and I felt that we really got a bang for our buck! The water was so warm, the fish were very curious and it was such an awesome experience. I would do it 100x over if I could!

Delighting experience - The experience with OceanEye would be difficult to pair. Both, captain and crew, were kind and easy-going. You spend some time listening about the history of the island and watching fish (they gladly explain the different species). After that, you will have a superb experience snorkeling at the surroundings of Vila Franca do Campo's Island. If you happen to be in Azores, you definitely should grab this activity.

Adventurous and fun! - A storm was starting to pass over Sao Miguel and we feared our trip the next day might have to be cancelled. We were in the marina anyway, so we talked to them and they made no issue out of moving it to that same day. The sea was wild, but that made it all the more fun! We saw many beautiful fish both through the glass boat floor and from within the water. We were provided with proper snorkeling equipment and given a lot of information about the island and the islet, as well as the fish. Possibly my favourite activity from the entire holiday! These people know what they're doing and they take pride in their work. 5/5 absolutely recommend this tour and the company, would rate higher if I could.

10/10 recommend to anyone visiting the Azores! - What a lovely experience! Our guide was awesome and told us about the islet and then we got in the water and snorkeled. She was very helpful with IDing fish and she even let me hold a starfish! My wife isn’t a huge swimmer but she got in for a bit and then was able to get back on the boat when she didn’t feel comfortable swimming any more. Highly recommend to anyone visiting São Miguel!

Glass bottom boat trip with snorkeling - The staff on the boat were great. The guide gave us a lot of information about the region, and the fish we saw below the boat. We traveled all around the island before the snorkeling experience. We were able to snorkel for about a half hour. The fish were not as colorful as those seen snorkeling off Cozumel in Mexico but it was a great excursion.

Take the ferry instead - The boat trip and snorkeling was good but the tour guide that spoke in Portuguese spoke for about 10 times the amount the English translator did so we definitely did not get the same information as others. The guide that took us in the water seemed very annoyed we didn't know not to swim into the lagoon or go near the side/underwater rocks so I think that had not been translated to us. Flipper sizes should have been organized in advance as we spent a lot of the allotted time figuring out equipment before the swim. Couldn't see much in the water but the glass bottom was still pretty cool and it was neat that some people swam underneath the boat. I would recommend taking the ferry to the island so you can actually swim in the lagoon area and walk on the island.

Recommended with Caution - The good first: The price was reasonable and the experience was different. Unfortunately, as the tour focused primarily on the Princess Ring Islet, there wasn't much to see beneath the sea. That part of the tour lasted about 10-15 minutes tops. Most of the area around the islet is too deep to experience much BUT we did see a number of jellyfish and Portuguese Man of War Jelly Fish swimming beneath our boat. That's where we get into the not-so-good: More than an hour of the glass bottom boat tour was spent looking at things at sea level. It was interesting but not the purpose of the tour. At the end the tour allowed a shallow water snorkle BUT it shouldn't have because the aforementioned jellyfish were still present. Everyone that swam was at some point stung but my girlfriend got the worst of it because the jellyfish literally got trapped in her mask and wrapped around her arms and legs. VERY painful. Not fun after that but luckily she wasn't allergic and after a few hours most of the pain had subsided. Her face and arm still hurt the next day and we learned that Vinegar is useful to treat jellyfish stings. What they could do better: They could alter the tour to involve some looking about the coast line of Villa Franca (which liekly has some underwater things to see) and then go out to the islet knowing that there is less to sea underwater there. Ending with a snorkle session is good but no one should have been snorkling when jellyfish were known to be in the area. This could've ended much worse than it did. Overall, we had fun but it was extremely unsafe to put people in the water in these conditions.
