One of my favorite tours in Iceland! - Our tour guide was great! He was knowledgeable, knew a lot about the trolls, and was prepared for anything. The glacier was beautiful, and it was a once in a life time experience getting to see it up close and personal.

Spectacular scenery! - The views and nature was spectacular, even for me as an Icelander. Ive wanted to see Katla glacier cave for several weeks and I do not regret booking and taking this trip. The guide was funny, kind and told great stories about the area and about Icelanders. Would recommend this trip to everyone.

The best guide I have ever met. - A few days ago I had the opportunity to participate in an expedition to the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Simion, thank you for this time. You are extremely professional in what you do. You have a great knowledge of geology and physics, that you share with passion, but you do it in perfect proportions. What's more, I just love your intelligent humor and the music perfectly matched to the views and mood. Everything is perfect and wisely thought out. You inspire. Thank you! ;)

Really great experience (but have moderate fitness) - This was a fantastic experience. Our guide Ari was great, funny, informative, and very considerate. He did a great job of looking out for everyone and the group size was kept very reasonable. Word of caution, reaching the cave entrances (which are not static in position and move) requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness as you have to zig zag up the glacier a bit coming and going (helmets and crampons for shoes are provided). My wife and I are in our late fifties and, although we workout every other day, it was a good workout. If you are really heavy or not in moderate shape you may struggle. That said, if you can handle the climbing, the experience inside the cave (again which change because the melt and reform) was well worth it. Got some amazing photos! Again, hats off to Ari!!

Excellent fast track ice cave tour! - Incredible trip. The guide, Simon, was excellent- very patient with our questions and less confident travellers as well as having lots of stories. Tour was great, glacier and icecave just Incredible! We followed this with pizza at black crust also fantastic! Thank you!

Great experience! Must do! - Great experience, 100% recommend! We picked the fast track ice cave tour and had so much fun. Our guide Boris was very nice, friendly and knowledgeable, it was truly a pleasure to spend 3 h with him. He shared very interesting facts not just about the things we were seeing but about Iceland in general. I highly recommend to pick the earliest tour cause we were literally the first ones there and had the caves to ourselves before other cars arrived with much bigger groups. The hike to the cave is quite easy and they provide you with crampons and helmet. The paths are also very well maintained. I enjoyed the fact that this company doesn’t take a lot of people per tour, max 10/12, we were 8 and we saw after us groups with at least 20 people. Thank you Katla Track and Boris for the adventure!

Unforgettable! - The Ice Cave Tour was amazing! Our guide Viggo was super, he told us many interesting facts about the surroundings, the Katla volcano etc. And we felt very safe with him during our trip. The way with the truck was an experiene for itself and then the walk to the cave also. We had the opportunity to even see an arctic fox for which our guide stopped. And in and around the cave we could take many beautiful pictures. Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience!

Very dissatisfied customer - Very sorry to have to leave this review but I have tried contacting the company and they would not compromise. So we had an Ice Cave tour booked for the Sunday and were told the day before due to a storm they had to cancel it and they would refund our money. They recommended another tour with Katlatrack which was still running so despite costing twice the price we decided to go for it as we were leaving Iceland on the Monday. However Sunday came and due to the storm the road had been closed by the Police so we were not permitted to travel to Vik for the Ice Cave Tour. However after contacting Katlatrack to explain the Road was closed they refused to refund our money even though it was not our fault. They just kept quoting their 48 hour cancellation policy! We’d booked it less than 24 hours ago. That must have been the easiest £400 they’ve made. This situation upset me greatly and ruined our last day in Iceland which was to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. So I’d be very careful booking anything with Katlatrack and we certainly won’t be if we ever return to Iceland.
