- BahÃa Bioluminiscente - Meet your group in front of Tradewinds Restaurant, then board your bus to the Bioluminescent Bay. Remember that you will need to sleep in Vieques for this activity. Wind through the mangrove canals and out to the edge of the sea by kayak. Beach your kayak and explore the beach as the sun sets. At dusk, launch your kayak back into the final rays of the sun. Paddle back in as the twilight deepens, reaching the inner lagoon just as the increasing darkness allows the stars to shine. The darker it becomes, the more the Bio Bay glows and sparkles with every touch of your paddle in the water. The adventure unfolds on Vieques, an isolated island belonging to Puerto Rico. You are required to reach Vieques from the mainland via boat or aircraft, and an overnight stay is mandatory as same-day return to the mainland is not feasible.

- Only book this tour if you are going to stay in the island of vieques overnight for at least one night
- Please know that Vieques is one of the offshore island of Puerto Rico and you need to arrive by ferry or airplane
- You are responsible to book your hotel as it is not included as part of the tour
- It is not possible for you to visit Vieques from the mainland and return during the same day
- Children over 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult
- Not posible for children under 5 years

Great nighttime adventure - It was a beautiful experience, a great adventure! My kids and I love kayaking and this trip to kayak in the bioluminescent bay was really lovely

No kayak experience needed :) - The tour was great and the travel was smooth. We got picked up in a van that took us to the bay. They kept our personal items safe while we were kayaking and has fresh water to clean our feet off when we got back. You don’t need to have kayak experience for the trip because there isn’t much paddling and the bay is quite shallow.

Bio bay A okay - Trip was decent kind of short but its about all you need the fish jumping through the water and lighting it up was definitely a highlight guides were friendly

Fun kayaking, disorganized company - The actual kayaking was nice and I loved seeing the bioluminescence (though it was a bit short). However, we were left waiting at the pickup point for almost an hour and had trouble getting in communication with the tour company. The pickup instructions said to meet 10 minutes before start, but when no one showed up I called the company and they gave me mixed information (one person said they would be there in 3 minutes and another said they tried to pick us up 30 minutes before start time). They did eventually pick us up, but the whole process was stressful.

Heavy insects. Filthy bay... - Heavy insects. Filthy bay with extremely dangerous swamp water, could not see much bioluminescence. If you are with kids please don't waste your time to come to this island just foe this thing. We were so disappointed.

Disappointing & a waste of money. - From everyone I met, I was told this experience should have been exceptional, but for us, it wasn't. There was nothing to see. After speaking with several people, I believe that we went to late at night and the moon was too high. One couple, who went with a different company even told us their late excursion was cancelled and they were told to come earlier. Our excursion was scheduled for 7pm. We were told to be at the meeting point at 7:30. We waited an additional 15 minutes or more before leaving to drive to the bay. By the time we arrived at the bay, it was nearly pitch black. The only way to see any bioluminescence, we had to splash the water. It was quite disappointing and a total waste of money. We traveled from San Juan (vacationing) and spent the night in Vieques, specifically to do this. I warn others, do some research yourself on the best time to go, so that you aren't at the mercy of the company and can make an informative decision on whether it is a good time to go. I wish I had.

Not dependable. Bad experience! - The time was changed to an hour an a half earlier than reserved for. I rushed to get to the pickup location after being in contact with a rep who said they’d wait for me. I was gonna be 15-20min late because had to wait for taxi which I changed the booking time so I could make the change in time for the adventure. And they left us. Horrible experience. Very sad.

Bad - Staff quite rude. One person yelled when asked about possible return time.
Ideally would avoid
It's late in night and so need to have ride back to hotel arranged ahead
