Absolutely wonderful! - Clear bottom kayak! Van is unmarked but location was clear from instructions and felt very safe. You will get wet and your shoes muddy! But so so worth it. It had been raining before we went but could see everything perfectly! Guide explained the phenomenon and we both loved it! Four couples total on our trip so group size was perfect!

Amazing!! - The company was great! The guides were wonderful. The experience was truly amazing. You have to see this for yourself. You could see the water light up once you got out a little. You could see it pass right under your kayak. Just amazing!! Don’t forget to look up. WOW! The stars! The were so many of them. My advice is go on the 7pm tour. It is dark then even if there is a full moon. We went 3 days after the full moon and had no problem seeing the color of the water change. Oh also in all the pics it looks blue but it actually is like a light yellow. Enjoy! And don’t miss this!

Magical first timers! - It was definitely worth it! First time kayaking for the both of us (we are in our early 30s and healthy) and the water is very calm and shallow… we did not feel unsafe because we were in a small group. Don’t take fancy shoes because you’ll have to take them off anyway. You leave your possessions behind in the van you arrive in. We took a backpack with towels. We booked our ferry tickets months in advance and used the 741 taxi app to get around for one night. The tour guide was a young gentleman very kind, patient, and knowledgeable who just graduated college! Sending the crew who took care of us many blessings!

Once in a Lifetime Experince Not to be Mussed - Juan Carlo was a great guide. He shared lots of information about the bay and the bioluminescent creatures. He made sure all group members were safe, we had two inexperienced kayaking but by the time we finished they were doing great! It's a once in a a lifetime experience not to miss.

Magical! - It was a magical experience. Our tour guides were very friendly, funny and gave us a lot of information about the bay. The water glowed in a bright blue with every movement. It was easy to paddle and we felt totally safe. It was almost New Moon, so we could see the bay glowing very bright. We couldn t stop playing with the water and watching the sparkling. The kayaks had clear-bottoms to see through. Definetly recommend the tour!

Wet wonder - Wonderful experience, equipment and guides were excellent. Be prepared to wait for the transfer van in a lot (no amenities) and walk over potentially muddy ground at the launch site. Don’t wear DEET insect repellent as it harms the bioluminescent organisms. If you’re taking a taxi, consider pre-booking a return, with the 741 Taxi app.

I wasn’t sure about... - I wasn’t sure about booking the trip since it was close to a full moon but I’m glad I did! It was cloudy and that would cover the moon at times. We made a make shift tent with a tarp over the kayaks to see the bioluminescence better. You are in a 2 person kayak. Pace was perfect for a parent needing to paddle with a child who may not paddle.

Experience at the bay... - Experience at the bay itself was magical. The guide was very good and provided detailed information regarding the flora and fauna in the bay and even stars and constellations. When at the venue, meet at the pick up point described and wait at the board that says Vieques Kayaks (it’s faded) even if you cannot find the company folk there. There are 17 companies on the island so it’s easy to get confused. As the bay is in the mangroves, it gets mushy at the entrance to the bay and with that comes insects, so make sure you put a bug repellent on!

Don’t book on full moon nights - If there is a full moon, you won’t see much and the tour should be discounted. Our guide was wonderful and filled in the gaps with astronomy and environmental lessons which we enjoyed, but this tour is overpriced for a bright moon night.
