Imperial Treasury (Schatzkammer) – A Must-See for History Fans - The Imperial Treasury is full of breathtaking exhibits from both secular and religious history. Highlights include the Holy Lance, the Veil of Veronica, and the world’s largest cut emerald. A fascinating and impressive collection that gives great insight into the power and symbolism of the Habsburg dynasty.

PLAN A HEAD AND SAVE - Purchase your tickets in advance to avoid a 10-20min wait. The 7 museum pass for friends and family for 90€ is your best option.

Informative and amazing - An exceptional and extremely diverse collection, incomparable to other European treasures. The tour lasts a big hour and does not consist only of a few jewels. Prepare to immerse yourself in the history of the Holy Roman Empire, it was very informative. Tips: pre-order your tickets to avoid the queue and audio guides are a must have

Discovering treasures - I expected something more impressive from the jewels of the holy empire. I got a little overwhelmed by the poor lighting that I imagine is for preservation of the pieces.

They should carry water... - They should carry water and wear comfortable shoes. I was happy to see the cleanliness of the place.

Make sure you join the right queue! - Confusing system. Instructions is unclear about how you get your ticket. Go to the museum and join the queue for “Voucher” or “Group Priority”, do not join the “Ticket” queue which is what we did for an hour only to be told to re-queue. Once you get your tickets, it should be a combi/joint ticket so you can use them at both venues. Eg: if you started at the museum, you can use the same ticket at the imperial treasury and vice versa. It’s not “skip the queue” but it is a shorter line for voucher / group priority.

Better instructions needed to get in.... - The lower rating is for the experience with the "ticket" from TripAdvisor. What you have is a voucher that you then need to go and stand in line once you arrive at the outside ticket booths and let them scan it to give you "tickets" that you can actually use to enter the museum. If you try and go straight in to the museum they will tell you this and send you outside to exchange it. No problem....just wish TripAdvisor was more clear when they sent it as this is not hard to explain. The museum itself is pretty impressive and the architecture of the building alone is incredible.
