A very worthwhile trip - It was a wonderful opportunity to venture well outside Vienna into Austria's Alpine valleys with villages and small towns and experience the beauty (no matter the weather) of the beautiful picturesque historic lakeside village of Hallstatt. The boat trip out across the tranqil lake added greatly to our enjoyment providing further magnificent views of the mountain setting. The journey by coach was comfortable and the splendid commentary given by the very personable guide about where were passing and Austria in general was interesting and entertaining in equal measure.

Great experience - We had such a wonderful day trip to Hallstatt, thanks to our amazing guide Lily! I really appreciated how clearly she explained the meeting times and locations, which made it easy for everyone to be punctual. She also shared so much about Vienna’s famous people and landmarks, and even played music from the composers she talked about, which made the experience extra special. Lily is truly one of the most dedicated and thoughtful guides I’ve ever met!

Hallstatt trip - This trip the tour guide Sofia and driver provided very good service. However, the middle stop froward and backward both selected to the Leidzen rest area. Suppose you can find some interesting places as a brief stop along the way.

bait and switch - Our guide, Dasha, was great, but we had some big issues with the company. We booked in advance, and the company made two significant changes to the experience without informing us nor offering a price adjustment. First, the Hallstatt skywalk was included in the price we paid for the tour. The skywalk closed for a 10-month renovation last week, which I am sure was not a last minute decision by the way, so the company swapped our skywalk admission out for a boat ride without any notification. The boat ride was less expensive than skywalk admission, and it is not something we would have pursued, so if we knew the company made this change, we would have booked a different experience and saved some money. Also, I am 100% certain that when I booked the tour, it included hotel pickup AND drop off, but the company edited the experience to only include pickup without any notification. The company dropped us off at a location that was convenient for them, even though we literally drove past our hotel on the way. After a 13-hour tour, spending the time, effort, and money to get back to our hotel was an incredibly unpleasant surprise. Overall, the guide knew what she was talking about, but the company pulled a bait and switch, and we feel taken advantage of.

Hallstatt is such a beautiful place.Overall, tour would have been great if the tour company delivered all the inclusions - Hallstatt is such a charming village, so glad to finally check it off our bucket list. It would have been more stunning if the sun was out, still we enjoyed our visit and the beautiful sceneries. Viator/7 Travel failed to fully deliver tour inclusions. The booking details, tickets and ‘tour inclusions’ all included a boat ride (no skywalk/hotel pick-up). When asked about the boat ride, the tour guide dismissed us in an annoying way so we paid for our boat ride tickets on site. On the way to Hallstatt, I recall she said that Austria is ranked as one of the most undfriendliest countries, and I think she proved it. She could use some kindness, positive and flexible attitude in her job. I will however give her credit for her deep knowledge and commentaries during the bus ride.
