Arrival at Dzimbahwe Guest Lodge

As the plane descended over the lush landscape of Victoria Falls, I felt a familiar thrill of anticipation. This was my annual pilgrimage to Africa, a continent that had captured my heart with its wild beauty and vibrant cultures. This time, I was staying at the Dzimbahwe Guest Lodge, a charming retreat nestled in the peaceful area of Victoria Falls, just a stone’s throw from the game corridor.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing drink, a perfect antidote to the long journey. Later, I had the chance to choose between an elephant encounter, a lion walk, or a helicopter flight over the falls. I opted for the helicopter flight, eager to see the falls from a bird’s-eye view. In the evening, I enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. As the sun set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I savored a delicious meal accompanied by local beverages. The gentle sway of the boat and the sounds of the river created a serene atmosphere, a perfect end to a day filled with adventure.

A Day in Chobe National Park

One of the highlights of my trip was a full-day safari in Chobe National Park. Known for its abundant wildlife, Chobe offered a thrilling opportunity to witness Africa’s iconic animals in their natural habitat. The game drive was a heart-pounding experience, as we spotted elephants, lions, and a myriad of other species.

The Chobe River cruise was equally captivating, providing a chance to observe hippos and crocodiles up close. As we glided along the river, I couldn’t help but reflect on the importance of conservation efforts to protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats.

Back at the lodge, I was treated to a bush dinner under the stars. The evening was filled with traditional music and dance, a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the region.
