Orca Experience Of A Lifetime! - We got up early to take the first boat out of the day and it did not disappoint! Johnny was our guide today and he demonstrated great knowledge while also being highly respectful to the wildlife we encountered. He was as eager as us to find Whales that we were actually the first ones out the harbour. We were even the first to find Orca! Through the whole experience we saw close to 17 Orca from 4 different families which was an amazing experience and ticks the bucket list! We were extremely lucky today but we put it down to having a great captain!

Amazing bucket list experience - What an AWESOME experience! We were able to see a family of Bigg’s orcas and a calf off the shoreline of Pender island!! Our captain/naturalist, Lori was great! She was knowledgeable, friendly and the best!! If you have the opportunity, you should absolutely do this tour!

Excellent service and quality guide - Great experience and happy with the service provided by Orca Spirit Adventures. Our guide was great and we had a lot of fun on the Zodiac boat. As a note to the business, a little more or a heads up on how you should wrap up warm for it even if the weather is good would be appreciated, and the life jacket suit things probably need repairing/replacing as they’re all rather battered and missing various fasteners that might help with the cold. Don’t let these put you off through, I’d still book with this company again.

very cool tour, we even... - very cool tour, we even managed to see killer whales, incredible captain who gave us a cool trip on the waves. For the best experience, choose the evening sessions, very nice view of the sunset and the mountains.

Great trip! - The trip was amazing! Lori was kind, knowledgeable, precise and safe in her driving of the boat, and invested in our experience and interest in seeing the marine wildlife. She went the extra mile and we really appreciate it!

Zero Stars - If I could give it ZERO stars I would! We booked early to see the whales. We took other excursions early on the cruise leaving the whales until Victoria. That was a huge mistake. Orca Spirits gave us less than 24 hours notice, they bumped us and accommodated a cruise ship excursion. There was no other whale watching tours available with that short notice in Victoria or Seattle. Sad to miss out on one of the main things when you’re on the trip of a lifetime. 3 days later, still no refund even though we were promised a refund in 1-3 business days.

Terrifying Experience, Poor Safety - This was an awful experience. Simply put we should not have been taken out in the Zodiac on this day. We were given ‘survival suits’ these had huge holes in so not sure on how they’d help us survive. There was no talk about life jackets or safety other than don’t stand up in the harbour as the crew man couldn’t see. I was sitting in a pool of water before we’d left the harbour. I’ve been on a few zodiac tours and the spray is part of the fun, this was deluge after deluge. After 20mins my daughter was uncomfortable, it got worse, the waves were bigger than the boat so there was so much coming over the sides, it was ridiculous. Clearly there was no chance of seeing anything as we crashed and bumped through the turbulent waves. Eventually I put my fist in the air to signal the crew and asked to slow down, we were all cowering on the boat. He said he had turned back as the waves were too high- clearly his communication was nil. I thought more than once we were over board the amount of water coming over, my daughter was in tears and we were all scared. We got back and he made a joke about us being wet and said we all had a free boat ride to be used any time. No questions on if we were all ok or not. We were dripping through to our under wear literally dripping. They had other boats out and they should have signalled for us not to go out in a zodiac. Interestingly other zodiacs didn’t appear to have moved that day from other companies. It was bad as soon as we set out, but we endured hell for 2hours. My daughter is now scared to do another open boat and certainly will never get in a zodiac again, having enjoyed them in the past. No concern for safety or welfare came through from the team.

Very untrustworthy company, booked weeks in advance and could not go because of their mistakes. Do not book with them. - This company is horrible. We came to Victoria for one day and the big activity for the day was this tour. As we arrived they told us that the tour was delayed and that we could not go because there were not enough people for us to go. 1,5 hours later we came back and they were going to give us our suits. However, the other family that was going with us had 2 small children but they were in the age and height requirement for this trip. So when they got a suit for the smallest child it was way too big. Everyone could see that this suit was in no way fitted for a 6 year old and so they could not go because it was illegal. So, then we could hear the result that we had been waiting for for almost half an hour which was that we could not go today. And since we are leaving tommorow we also couldn’t go on that trip. So we had to take the refund but we also had to wait for that for about 20 minutes because they didn’t know how to make a refund. All and all we waited for 1,5 hours for the next tour, than we waited another 1,5 hours to finally hear that we couldn’t go. No extra something for the inconvenience, just the refund. Absolutely f*cking horrible evening and everything that they could mess up was messed up. Don’t go.
