- Voss Municipality - Voss is a municipality in Vestland county. The administrative center is the village of Vossevangen. Voss is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast-flowing whitewater rivers. This has led to its development as a notable center of skiing, watersport, skydiving, paragliding and other adventure sports. Every year in the last week of June the area hosts the Ekstremsportveko (Extreme Sports Week), which is regarded as the world’s premier extreme sport festival. Bømoen, the local airstrip, is home to Skydive Voss, one of the largest dropzones in Norway, as well as a gliding club. The rivers provide various levels of white water, attracting kayaking, rafting and river boarding. Kite surfing and para-bungee may be seen on lake Vangsvatnet. The ski area, to the north of the town, is accessible via a cable car, Voss Gondol.

We commence our journey from Bergen, heading towards the quaint village of Gudvangen. En route, we pause to visit the impressive Tvinde Waterfall where you’re given the opportunity to approach the base of the cascading waters. During the summer, a pit-stop is made at Stalheim which boasts a breathtaking vista of the Naeröydal valley, hemmed in by towering cliffs on all sides.
Upon arrival in Gudvangen, we embark on the futuristic electric ‘Future of the Fjords’ vessel to Flåm. The renowned Nærøyfjord, a Unesco World Heritage site, graced by lofty mountains, is a remarkable spectacle year-round.
From Flåm, the adventure proceeds with a thrilling ride on the world-renowned Flåm Railway, one of the globe’s steepest railways. This 20-kilometer rail journey offers an unrivaled panorama of Norway’s wild and majestic mountainous terrain, alongside the acclaimed Kjosfossen waterfall. At Myrdal station, we transfer to the Bergen Railway, proceeding to Voss. Here, you’re picked up by car for your return journey back to Bergen.

Fabulous tour Flam, fjords, waterfalls and viewpoints - Our tour guide Arne picked us up at our hotel on schedule, the vehicle being a people carrier which afforded better views of the countryside and access in/out of the vehicle was extremely easy.
On meeting him he immediately outlined our plans for the day and explained that he had decided to change the tour schedule to go in an anti-clockwise direction as it would ensure encountering less sightseers, a decision that was to prove excellent.
Our guide’s attention to detail was extremely thorough and whilst it was a comparatively long day he ensured that we kept to schedule without being rushed.
He did not accompany us on the part of the tour that involved trains and boat trip on the Fjord however he tracked our progress constantly by use of GPS and messaged us on what sights to look out for, which side of the boat/train to sit on to get the best possible experience from the tour.
All in all an excellent day.

BEST BEST TOUR AND ARNE - It was a fabulous experience. Gave us such an informative and all around knowledge and feel of Bergen culture and heritage as well as all of Norway.
Arne is incredible and texted us where to go and what to do when we were on train or whenever he wasn’t with us Constant information so well organized.

A long-time wish fulfilled. - In the late 1990s I worked with a tour company that booked tours in Italy and Norway for travel agent’s clients. One popular tour, I always wanted to take myself, was the Flam railway.
This August my husband and I, now in our 80s, booked a cruise from Bergen to NYC with a two night stay in Bergen prior. We booked the Private guided Flam day tour including the Naeroyfjord Cruise and the Flam Railway. Michael, our guide for the day, arrived at our Bergen hotel at 8am and drove us to Voss for the two trains to Flam where he met us and drove, mainly through a several mile long tunnel, to Gudvangen to catch the tour boat to Flam where he again met us and drove us back to the hotel in Bergen. It was a very long driving day for Michael. He was “the best”. A very considerate and mindful driver. We thank him so much for a wonderful day and fulling my long hoped for tour.

A great team that facilitated a pleasantly busy day - The company that organizes this full-day tour employs only native local guides, who provide you with an insider's insights. Our guides were Paul, who drove the van and provided extensive commentary; and Erika, who accompanied us on the trains and electric cruise boat, facilitated our access to great seats, and offered helpful hints for obtaining the best photos. Both of them were very personable and engageable, and made the day a true pleasure for us. The fjord cruise on a bright sunny day was a particular highlight of our trip!

An awe inspiring experience - The whole experience was amazing. Our guide, Paal was helpful, informative and good company. The Flam railway was spectacular and the Fjord cruise was incredible. Norway has left us breathless with its stunning scenery. Paal helped us immensely we would not have known how to bring this amazing day together without his expertise. Beautiful tour with great guides - First leg of train from I think Flam to Voss was especially gorgeous but entire tour was full of beautiful scenery. Tour guides were all great, knowledgeable and very helpful with getting us best seats, alerting us to upcoming spectacular views, etc. Paul, Erica, and Tonya were wonderful.
