See it and soak it up - Our guide Erlon was outstanding and passionate about sharing the stories of this magnificent place. We enjoyed it all, even with the crowds! After you enter the palace building, there is time for a restroom stop before the tour starts in earnest, which is super helpful. Gardens do cost money on Easter weekend, so even though it’s not technically April yet, expect to pay for entry.

Great tour - Out host Isabella was amazing. Provided great guided tour. This is a great tour as you are not bound or dependent on tour companies transportation to go back to Paris. After tour we spent time on our own visiting gardens and other rooms and buildings. Palace can be reached easily via uber or train on our own.

Ok - I ordered skip the line tickets ( it wasn’t ) our group got in together but an hour late so buyer beware , your was good and knowledgeable but the place is so vast you could be there all day , take an Uber from Paris it was only $20-25 each way …. trust me you don’t want to drive anywhere in Paris unless it’s before 6am or after 9 pm

Not great. - The organisation of getting into Versailles was horrendous. There was no order and constant pushing and shoving. We were stood outside in the rain for more than an hour, packed together like sardines. We entered the palace an hour and a half after our ticket time. Because of this, the tour felt very rushed. The rooms were interesting and the hall of mirrors was stunning. Our tour guide did their best, but it was difficult to hear them and you really had to concentrate to get the pronunciation of certain words. A lot of the information was focussed around the paintings on the ceiling and we didn’t learn much about Louis XIV and his life. We are wondering if we would have been better to avoid the group entrance and get an audio guide. This wasn’t really what we expected for £50+ pp and on top of that another €10 each to get into the garden despite being assured it was free until April. Not one member of staff was any help in the gardens to tell us when the musical fountain show was, despite asking in French. None of the QR codes or app for extra information worked at any point during our visit. We were directed to non existent maps and could find no one that was of any help. This is a beautiful place and can be enjoyed if you can cope with the lack of organisation and customer service. They probably don’t need to try because they know people will visit regardless.

Versailles - The crowds at Versailles were horrible. You could barely walk through the halls. It was difficult to stay with our guide. Not enjoyable at all.
