Explore Versailles in a unique way - on a bike! This is the ideal method to appreciate Versailles’ vast gardens and you’ll get to experience usually overlooked highlights of Versailles like Marie Antoinette’s rustic Hameau, the Petit Trianon, and the Grand Trianon. You can also look forward to a picnic by the Grand Canal before touring the Palace of Versailles. Versailles, positioned just 16 kilometers/12 miles away from Paris, is our meeting spot near a metro station within Paris before we start our expedition. From this point, we’ll board the suburban train (~30 minutes) and grab our bikes situated opposite the train station.
- If a children’s bike is required, you must advise at time of booking.
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.
- You will cover an area of approximately 10 miles on a relatively flat terrain. The ride is leisurely and therefore suitable for all levels of fitness.
- Child seats are available if requested at the time of booking
- Tandem bikes are available for children aged 10 years and younger.
- All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

No better way to see Versailles! - A great day out at Versailles! Four of us just made it to the train station on time (who knew a marathon would block most roads that morning!). Our guide Jenn was super fun and guided us on a remarkable tour around the grounds, stopping along the way for historical summaries and really making this trip so enjoyable. I can't imagine a better way around the grounds then this! And, we also very much enjoyed the camaraderie with our fellow bicycle companions and the friendly conversations at every stop. Truly a peaceful and enjoyable day!

WAY worth it. Just do it only way to see it - Erik was our tour guild he ROCKED. Very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and funny. The bike tour of the property was WAY worth it and better in my opinion than the castle itself. The market is fabulous. Erik gave LOTS of good info to take or leave and really good food recommendations. The picnic lunch was outstanding. Just trust me book this tour!!!! Super fun day

Fantastic day out - My wife and I had a great day on the bikes to Versailles and our guide Rory was much of the reason. His enthusiasm and energy was boundless as our group of 20 negotiated metro crowds and busy streets.
His explanations of what to expect were clear and very helpful and his knowledge of Versailles was very thorough.
He presented a lot of information in a very comical way which made the history lessons much more palatable.
He gave clear instructions for the bikes and how to deal with the traffic and there were no issues for any of us.
Do your best to take this your and be sure of a really enjoyable day with Rory in charge.

Great tour!! Rory did a... - Great tour!! Rory did a fantastic job keeping us safe, giving good biking instructions around the city, and most importantly was incredibly knowledgeable about the the palace!!
Would highly recommend to folks who want to experience less crowds, the property is huge so biking around allows you to see more than just the palace - once you get to the palace it's SUPER crowded.

Lovely trip - It's been five years and it still remains one of my favorite excursions. I loved shopping in the market for our lunch, biking through the gardens, touring different areas and seeing Versailles.

Biking with Jen through Versailles - Our guide, Jen with Fat Tires was one of the most delightful and engaging guide we have had in all our 40 years of travelling the world. The bikes, both e bike and regular bikes were in good condition. The meeting was seamless and well instructed. The itinerary was just as told in their tour explanation and kept us busy but not rushed.
Jen is a marvelous historian and storyteller. Some of our parties were first time visitors, and others were return visitors, and we all learned so much from her.

Definitely recommend - Jesse was a great guide. Very informative. It was lovely to ride a bike there. We were able to cover a lot of the grounds easily.

Great way to see Versailles! - Great way to see all aspects of Versailles. Definitely a full day trip. We traveled with family/teenagers. Loved first half of day biking around gardens and local shopping/picnic. Weather was incredible in Oct. went on Sunday, it was very crowded. Second half post lunch was a bit long and we didn’t wrap up at castle until 5:30p. Maybe suggest giving patrons the option to cut down on amt of time at Hamlet/Kings And Queens separate houses in lieu of getting to Castle sooner to have more time to explore. Otherwise, our guide Jessie did a great job! Would recommend for those who have never been to Versailles as a way to see it all! .

A great way to see this amazing place the garden is too big to see it all on foot - Stopping at the market to pick up food for a picnic lunch was fabulous
The bikes were a bit old & rattling,
Some of the paths we rode on were quite rough
the e-bikes seemed better

The setting and the... - The setting and the market stop were wonderful, but overall the tour was poorly managed and stressful. Our group had around 20 people, which was simply too large for one guide to handle safely or effectively. Those of us in the back could rarely hear any of the commentary, and communication during stops was chaotic.
One group in particular dominated the guide’s attention, which created an unfair and uncomfortable dynamic for the rest of us. They were allowed to ride aggressively, cut others off, and even force their way to the front without any correction. At one point, the guide gave directions only to that group, causing the rest of us to get lost and fall about 30 minutes behind schedule.
While the visit to the market was a highlight and the scenery around Versailles is beautiful, the oversized group and lack of structure made what should have been an enjoyable experience feel disorganized and frustrating.
