Fantastic views. But book ahead. - There are pretty much two ‘birds eye’ viewing spots in Venice - being the Basilica San Marco Clock Tower; and the roof top terrace of ‘T Fondaco Dei Tedeschi’ (a department store by the Rialto bridge). You need to book ahead for both - which we did. So we set off for the Clock Tower first thing and after a short wait, went up (~100 m). The view provided a terrific perspective of Venice - its red terracotta rooftop tiles, and the various islands to the south and east. A good start to the day.
