Enchanting evening - It was such a beautiful setting and the music was lovely. The costumes added a nice flair and the musicians seemed to be enjoying themselves. 100% worth the extra money for VIP seating since you are near the front that way. There are quite a few stairs for those that have mobility concerns.

Experience to do for the general atmosphere - Very good overall with a few personal nuances: - I found the acoustics of the room very good, we were placed in the 2nd row and the result was perfect - The building, the atmosphere and the 18th century costumes are a plus - The execution of the pieces was probably not perfect but it's live, we can't compare it with a recording where we only keep the best takes. - The first violin played for an hour without a score! - On the other hand, the control of the recordings is rubbish, in front of me was a brave lady who filmed everything and broadcast it live! - The applause of some at the end of each movement was painful and visibly upset the musicians, the 1st violin tried in vain to make the spectators understand this by putting his finger in front of his mouth (shh) but to no effect. - Some noisy spectators but hey it's human nature, we probably weren't lucky

Not for music lovers! - The musicians adapted to the uninformed audience without any problems (people clapped after almost every sentence, which ruined the mood). The intonation of the instruments was no better, especially at the beginning. An imposition for musically trained ears. Never again!!!

Out of tune tourist rip off. - There are excellent concerts and real musicians in Venice. Do not go to this tourist trap. The first half of the concert was painful. The instruments were totally out of tune and a junior high orchestra could have out played them. The second half was slightly better but Vivaldi must have been turning in his grave at hearing his music being played with so little emotion and minimal skill. I have never been to a concert where musicians didn’t tune up at the start of the concert. They probably didn’t know how or knew it was an impossible task for them. We have been to the concerts at the San Vidal church that were extraordinary. They don’t dress in cheesy costumes and are real virtuosi!
