• Dasaswamedh Ghat - At the break of dawn, the day begins with a serene boat ride from Varanasi’s main and bustling ghat, Dashashwamedh. The breathtaking sunrise and magical light illuminating the historic palaces and temples along the banks will captivate you. Enjoy observing local life and capturing the vibrant, colorful, and traditional activities on the ghats: pilgrims and locals taking sacred baths, praying, performing ceremonies, washing clothes, and chatting. Sadhus, Babas… A feast for the senses!
• Manikarnika Ghat - After a brief rest at your hotel, the exploration of Varanasi continues. The second part of the tour starts at Manikarnika, where death is celebrated. Overlooking the main burning ghat of Varanasi, one of the most sacred cremation sites along the Ganges River, is the perfect spot for observing and photographing. Detailed explanations of the Hindu sacred death rituals will be provided. From there, the journey leads to the old town to explore the small, colorful alleys of the center, historical palaces, sacred temples, traditional ashrams, bazaars, and local markets.
• Varanasi - It’s lunchtime! After a long walk, it’s time to recharge. A recommendation for a delightful Indian meal or the best lassi in the city will be provided. Once refreshed, a tuk-tuk ride will take you to the next stop: traditional silk weaving. Explore the Muslim area, learn about the silk weaving process, and admire the beautiful final products.
• Ganges River - Return to the river for a sunset boat ride. The light and ghats at this time are enchanting, with different people and activities compared to the morning. Enjoy observing local life and capturing the moment. A new sensory experience awaits!
• Dasaswamedh Ghat - The day concludes with one of Varanasi’s most spectacular sights: The Ganga Aarti Ceremony. This divine spiritual ritual on the banks of the Ganges River features Hindu priests performing a beautiful and sacred ritual in honor of Mother Ganges, accompanied by songs of praise. Thousands of pilgrims gather every evening to receive the Goddess’s blessing, believed to be bestowed upon each individual present when the ritual concludes.
