Street Photographer by heart - Had an amazing time. He’s a street photographer at heart, so the whole experience felt more like shooting with a buddy He knew all the best spots and hidden corners, which made it easy to capture some great shots while just enjoying the vibe of the city. A Truly Unforgettable Photo Tour of Holy Varanasi with Dhiraj Goswami - This was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had in India.
Dhiraj personally picked me up on his scooter from my hotel (Ramada Plaza, Cantonment area), which was a fun and memorable way to start the morning. From there, he arranged an absolutely magical sunrise photo session on the Ganga with a Shaiva sadhu on a boat. Even though I only had my iPhone, he made sure I got amazing shots. He also brought his professional camera and offered to send me all the high-quality images he captured, which was incredibly generous.
Beyond the photography itself, Dhiraj is simply a super fun guy to hang out with. He’s relaxed, easy to talk to, and has a great sense of humor. But he’s also extremely knowledgeable. After the boat ride, we walked along the ghats, and he explained the rituals, history, and significance of the cremation sites with clarity and respect. As someone born and raised in Varanasi, living right near the ghats, he shares stories and insights you would never get from a standard guide.
We stopped for fresh chai from a local vendor, talked about life in Varanasi, and soaked in the morning atmosphere. It felt less like a tour and more like spending a few hours with a friend who genuinely wants you to experience his city the right way.
For any Western travelers, photographers, or anyone hoping to truly understand and feel the spiritual energy of Varanasi while also getting incredible photos, I highly recommend this tour. Dhiraj goes above and beyond, and this experience was a highlight of my entire trip.

All street photographers visiting Varanasi should book this. - Thoroughly enjoyed the photo walking tour with Dhiraj Goswami. Getting up early made all the difference in getting some excellent shots. He knew great places to go and fantastic perspectives to shoot from. We explored a lot in the time we had together, and I got some fantastic shots. During the photowalk, he shared many local perspectives and gained a glimpse into the Varanasi street photography community. Overall, it was a pleasure to spend time with Dhiraj, and I'd highly recommend booking this for any street photographer visiting Varanasi. Ps. Sony is the best. :)

You won’t regret this wonderful tour ! - This photo tour has been without any doubt the highlight of my stay in Varanasi! . Dhiraj is trully a wonderful human being, generous, solar, fun and a gifted photographer. Varanasi has been his playground forever and he knows it like the back of his hand. Besides and on a more technical aspect, Dhiraj really helped me to overcome my shyness of taking pictures of all the beautiful people you meet in the street and he taught me how to use my camera manually which allowed me to take some creatives pictures ! He also gave me a lot of advices to take better pictures thanks to composition or light for instance. Be prepared for a wonderful journey with him. Varanasi is a feast for the eyes, so don’t miss this unique opportunity to discover it with Dhiraj !

Fantastic tour and experience - Varanasi from a different perspective. Highly recommended. - This tour is a fantastic experience in which to see Varanasi from a different view point and to embrace the religious culture of the city.
Dhiraj is a very easy person to understand and get on with. His knowledge and skills for seeing a picture using either a camera or an iPhone is impressive. He certainly knows his professional “stuff”.
Walking the lanes of Varanasi with him and with his guidance, getting to see how to find a picture before you take a picture was a great and fun education.
Meeting up at one the Ghats as the sun rose over the River Ganges, was the perfect start to the tour and gave us the opportunity to quickly learn and take some amazing pictures of the people, city’s land marks, lanes and the real life of Varanasi.
Definitely a great tour to experience for something a bit different to the normal walk and talk type.
We would highly recommend the tour with Dhiraj.

Blessed by Varanasi amazing photographer - Amazing personality and true guidance, professional artist photographer and highly talented, one of a kind . As a woman solo traveler I recommend to joined to that experience with him , like me you won’t regret your tour and plus new skills and understanding of the pictures you will get an opportunity to know the artist behind such talent , very good human interaction. Feeling safe and knowing the city from a different perspective.
