Although many pillars have been lost or destroyed, 20 still stand in India. These pillars are the earliest known stone inscriptions in India, showcasing the advanced Mauryan civilization’s culture.

• Dhamek Stupa - Dhamek Stupa is a significant site in Sarnath due to its historical importance as the location of Buddha’s first sermon, where he introduced the eightfold path to nirvana.
