Additional Information

La Paz Waterfall Gardens is Costa Rica’s top private ecological highlight, featuring San Jose’s finest trails. It encompasses the country’s most renowned cascades, including the famous La Paz Waterfall, and serves as a wildlife sanctuary and private reserve hosting over 100 animal species. They also offer programs on environmental education. There are five waterfalls nested within the cloud and rainforest. An aviary with 40 bird species offers toucan feeding, along with displays of titi monkeys and insects. It includes a butterfly garden with a lab, 2-toed sloths, capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, and a hummingbird garden with more than 26 documented species that allow morning and afternoon hand-feeding. There are also exhibition areas for jaguars, pumas, ocelots, tigrillos, cauceles, and oxen carts at the ‘house of peace’ with domesticated animals. Other displays include frog exhibits, orchid showcases, and presentations of heliconias and bromeliads.

Outstanding Tour! The Best! - Amazing tour! You can’t miss this one. I’m an avid traveler and I’ve done a million tours. This was by far the best I’ve ever been on. Our tour guide Agustin and driver Marco were so kind and friendly. Agustin had so much knowledge and passion for his country and culture. It was infectious. La Paz waterfalls and wildlife refuge were beautiful. So worth the making the trip to Costa Rica!

Excellent day trip - We had such a fantastic time seeing the waterfalls and the wildlife refuge. Our guide, Fran, was so knowledgeable and her love of her country was evident in her enthusiasm for all things Costa Rican. We enjoyed her surprises along the way - a stop at a coffee farm and a fruit stand. Highly recommended this excursion.

Super fantastic - Armando and the driver were so professional and considerate. Armando was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire tour. His knowledge of the local people customs and consideration to the group but also to anyone that was lost and needed directions. He is an asset to you company as an ambassador for your organization. His assistance made the trip enjoyable and I would gladly book another tour with him and will be recommending him to friend that plan to make their vacation to Costa Rica San Jose. I’m sorry I could not give him and the driver 10 stars.

Eco Tour is a must!! - This was my second tour with Willy Tours and Roy as my tour guide! This is probably the most popular tour with a slightly larger group, but having two tour guides really helped give the small group feel. Loved learning all about native animals, and seeing the rainforest in all of its glory.

Semi-solo review - I was treated to a semi-private tour due to the location of my hotel; just myself and one other participant. Ricardo was a wealth of knowledge and a very kind soul. I would recommend this day trip to someone seeking adventure, but in a safe environment. Our guide handled all the driving, dining, and even made time for rest. It was very good day.

Nice, but too expensive for what is offered - The waterfalls and the rainforest were very beautiful, but we were put under a lot of time pressure and rushed through the route without being able to enjoy the individual viewpoints. The guide was very nice, but unfortunately he only talked a little about Costa Rica in general on the way there, but nothing more on the actual hiking route. The lunch was very good (something for everyone). Unfortunately we didn't see any animals in the wild, but we did see some in cages that are supposed to be released back into the wild after illness/injuries. Overall it was a nice trip, but the tour was too expensive for that (you could have asked around yourself to find out cheaper)
