Waterfalls, Toucans and Jaguars! - What beautiful waterfalls Costa Rica has, and easy to get to! But we wouldn't have learned that 80% of Costa Rica's electricity comes from hydroelectric power until we spent the day with our fabulous guide. Our trip circumnavigated a large area of Costa Rica, from the river to the volcanic mountains that produce waterfalls, and included a beautiful tropical garden and a walk through the man-made habitats that protect rescued wild animals, from Toucans to Jaguars. Beautiful and memorable trip.

Sarapequi River tour and La Paz Wildlife Rescue and Waterfalls - The guide, Oscar, spoke English well. He was right on time to pick me up at the hotel. His car was in good condition and clean. He was very knowledgeable about any aspect of Costa Rica: history, politics, geography, flora y fauna. We took several stops to get something to drink and snacks both going and returning to Sarapequi River and the La Paz Wildlife Refuge and waterfalls. I enjoyed the relaxing boat trip to see a sloth, Howler monkeys, and water birds: green ibis and white egret. The La Paz Refuge also had monkeys, birds, butterflies, and ocelots and Jaguars. The buffet restaurant there was quite good. The trail to the waterfalls was beautiful, but had I realized that there would be hundreds of stairs to climb up and down, I probably wouldn’t have done it. I use a cane to walk so….yeah. Definitely not for people who use wheelchairs—But for everyone else, this tour is wonderful.

Amazing experience-No better way to see Costa Rica - I was going to wait until I got home to write this but I couldn’t wait. I had the most amazing excursion today with tour guide Ricardo. The Sarapiqui River cruise was beautiful and there were a lot of animals around- most of them up in trees so I highly recommend binoculars. La Paz Waterfall Garden is absolutely stunning. There is an animal sanctuary that is interesting to see, the grounds are beautiful. There are a lot of steps which I enjoyed but might not be great for everyone. The waterfalls themselves truly are amazing and worth the trip. The best part of my excursion was my guide Ricardo who was very kind and incredibly knowledgeable. If, like myself, you are interested in learning more about Costa Rican history, politics, and way of life, then I would recommend asking for him by name. He is also very knowledgeable about wildlife and conservation. We also made an unscheduled stop at a cafe restaurant (because I wanted coffee) with an amazing view and toucans and hummingbirds right there feeding. Definitely ask him to take you there too if that is your thing. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and am grateful for the memories.

Phenomenal - My experience was amazing with my tour guide Oscar because he showed me the best part of Costa Rica. Since it was my first time traveling I needed a tour instead of doing it on my own. The first stop was the coffee shop that is made there and the view was phenomenal. While I was buying the coffee he showed me the rocking chair which I loved and I sat down and saw the view. The second tour was the best one which was the waterfall La Paz it felt like I was in the movies .. the rest of the tour was great..I needed a tour because I wanted to know the Country well in Costa Rica.. if you like nature this is the place for you to visit .. he showed me a lot of things which next time I know where to go when I come back to Costa Rica.. he also recommended me places to go which it was nice of him to do that ..

A day in the heart of Costa Rica - This was the best! Touring Costa Rica via this itinerary was excellent. The tour took us through GORGEOUS mountainous landscapes, by wonderful landmarks off the beaten path, and ultimately to the La Paz Waterfall gardens. The waterfalls were incredible, and I was impressed with the animal rescue center. And we had lunch at the restaurant, which was superb. But the best part of the tour was our guide, Oscar. He was so knowledgable, kind and fun. We learned so much about the area, and his love and passion for his country makes him the perfect tour guide. We are so very fortunate to have gone through Destiny Travel - this company has heart and soul, and good people working for them.

Dy trip to the falls - I compared many companies before choosing Destiny Travel. When I went to book the trip through Expedia it was full for the day we needed, but I went on the Destiny Travel website and it was open after all. So glad we booked directly via email! Oldemar got back to me immediately and was very gracious and helpful, and apparently setting things up for the trip in the wee hours of the morning. Our tour guide Oscar was amazing! We had so much fun with him, it definitely made a big difference in the experience. If you want a beautiful tour with knowledgable, fun and professional guides, go with Destiny Travel. Best decision I have made in a long time.

Our guide was Arturo and he was a... -
Our guide was Arturo and he was a very nice fellow. He was very accomodating to our needs, since my husband and I were the only ones on the tour.
It was a national holiday, so it worked out perfect for us, since we had no traffic leaving the city.
The Waterfall gardens is an incredible place. It is a must see place!
Arturo guide us through the place. He had a lot of knowledge about the animals and plants. Very calm and sweet person.
We were able to spend really a long time at this place and see the Sloth in action.
If you want to go to the river, this a a much better tour than the one with the Irazu volcano.
