During this 2.5-hour gastronomic walking tour, you’ll delve into the history of the early shipbuilding industry while indulging in a delectable dining adventure. Explore local market traders in the renowned Lonsdale Quay Market and the adjacent waterfront Shipyards District, featuring a plethora of gastronomy, quaint shops, and cultural festivities. Experience delightful tastings such as a Lebanese Mezze platter, fresh homemade soup, pizza, donuts and fried chicken, ice-cream and chocolate, and sample local refreshments like radler, beer, wine, and cider.
Immerse yourself in the picturesque waterfront scenes and vivacious local community of North Vancouver. Our playful and captivating narrative tour guides will make sure your afternoon is as enjoyable as it is insightful.
- Persons under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum drinking age is 19 years, non alcoholic options available upon request
- Special dietary requests can only be accommodated min 24 hours before tour start. Sorry we cannot accept any requests on the day of the tour. Note that some of the stops may not be able to offer appropriate alternatives.
- Tour covers approx. 10 blocks. 3 of the stops are sit down. Tour is on a schedule, although slower paced as tour guides stop during tour to show interesting points of interest in the neighbourhood.
- Tour operates rain or shine. Please arrive hungry and dress for the weather. Tour operates rain or shine. Vancouver tends to get a lot of rain October-April so please bring an umbrella or rain jacket and wear comfortable shoes.

Meet tour guide at 1:20 pm inside Waterfront Station, by Starbucks in the main hall, 601 West Cordova St
Tour guide escorts you on the SeaBus ferry 1:30 pm (public transportation, 12 min scenic ferry ride) from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay. SeaBus return ticket is included in the price.

Fun times - A very fun and tasty time celebrating our dad's birthday. Our kids were also welcome on the tour. We enjoyed all the food that was offered.

Great tour and these are the reasons why….. - Best time ever!!! This is our first time in Vancouver and thought it would be fun to do a food tour. There were a few companies to choose from and boy are we thankful we chose this tour. First off Kate our tour guide was bubbly, full of knowledge and just all around fun. We were also lucky enough to have a guide in training Rachel join our crew. She was witty , funny and all around delightful.
What makes a great tour? The people and the guide. Kate got us talking and laughing. Some people on our group are from North Vancouver and they were delighted and surprised by some of the places we went.
We had a great experience and at the end we all hugged as we went our separate ways. We even got invited to an improv show and before we left the island we retraced our steps and bought lovely yummies at some of the vendors we visited. I mean a fried chicken glazed donut sandwich. You have to go back.!

So much fun! - We booked the tour to get us out of our usual restaurant rut and to try some new things. The tour did not disappoint. Kate was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and brought us to some unique places to sample their dishes. It was my guy’s first tour and now he’s chomping at the bit to go on another. WARNING… do not eat anything after breakfast! You will want an empty tummy for this!

Great tour for tourists and locals - This was an excellent tour. Great food and drink tastings and Sean was entertaining and knowledgable. Recommend the tour if visiting or live in the Lower Mainland. We’ll definitely return to the Shipyards area.

Fun, interesting, and tasty. - This was an excellent tour.
The things we ate and drank were varied and delicious without exceptions.
The shipyards are a historic, beautiful, and fascinating part of North Vancouver. The guides were not only knowledgeable about the 9 chosen food and beverage spots, but also the history of the area. They kept us interested and entertained the entire time.
I'd definitely recommend this, or any of the other Taste Vancouver Food Tours.

Phenomenal Tour! - Our experience on the Shipyard Food Tour was genuinely remarkable. Kelsey, our guide, was exceptional in her knowledge, humour, and ability to connect with us. The various stops we visited offered delectable treats, and the historical context and drink options made the 2.5 hours unforgettable. We have also been on the Gastown food tour, and each location had its unique charm, with tour guides who made it feel personalized. These tours are unquestionably our preferred way to experience Vancouver.

North Vancouver Culinary Exploration - This local food tour blends historical accounts from yester-year Vancouver with some hidden culinary gems. Numerous stops at a variety of eclectic quay and nearby restaurants gives you a taste sized sample of the culinary options available. While portions are on the smaller side the multiple stops will ensure you are satiated by the end of the 2.5 hours. Kelsey, our guide did a great job blending humour, history and tasty delights.

Doing their best with what's on offer - This tour is doing its best with what they have. The tour guides are utterly amazing, amusing, interesting, and fun. The food, on the other hand, needs more than a little work to be amazing, particularly for anyone who is a "foodie". On the NV tour, the best thing was the alley food/drinks...because the venues were totally interesting, tho' I was a bit wary about fried chicken on a donut! That said, hope the tours encourage food outlets to up their game big time.

Missed potental - Tour was our introduction to North Vancouver- or so we hoped. It turned out to be centred around the mall ( 4 of the 9 stops) beside the Seabus terminal.
We were expecting information on the history of shipbuilding in the area. We were lucky (psychic?) to have visited the MONOVA beforehand so we had some facts about the area and its successes and failures over the years.
