Beautiful beyond comprehension - Do not skip this!! This place literally brought me to tears- I've never been anywhere so beautiful. Not only did this cathedral house some of the most beautiful paintings I've ever seen, but every square inch is decorated with such intricate care and devotion. Walking through the cathedral just dwarfs you- you feel so small in such a powerful way- it's very hard to explain. You just have to see it for yourself. Save a little money by getting a combo ticket for both Valletta Black Friars + St. Catherine's Monastery Mysterium Fidei- this was an unforgettable experience. The music, the atmosphere, everything. And thank you to the staff, who were very friendly and accommodating as well- I'm sorry you most likely saw me crying on the CCTV! I'm a very emotional person 😂 This was one of our favorite parts of our short trip to Malta and we were very grateful to have seen it :)

The must see exhibit in Valletta at the Dominican Church - The exhibit of the church complex is fantastic. They opened the whole church to the public and are explaining what each altar means and why every saint is important. The craftsmanship and the creativity of every altar, ceiling and floor is beyond expectations. Very important to note how many of the artists are Maltese and the very positive influence received from artists in other European countries where the Catholic Church is dominant.

Absolutely recommended - Very nice church with lots of highlights to look at. The entrance fee is mostly reinvested to preserve and restore the structure.
There is the option to buy a combo ticket to the Monastery & Secret Gardens, with admission to both attractions being cheaper.
Staff very friendly and helpful, also gave us tips for local restaurants with good cuisine where we were also absolutely delighted

A quick stop but worth it - If you enjoy visiting churches and cathedrals for the interesting history and the ornate artworks then this is a quick, low cost stop that is worth the visit. There are only 3 rooms but we had it to ourselves and so, unlike in the main cathedral, we weren’t jostling to see interesting details. Very refreshing in a city as crowded as Valletta.

A Great Place to Visit - Would highly recommend. - I was keen to check out the Black Friers experience because the reviews were so good, bought a joint ticket for Mysterium Fidei Monastery which is only a couple of streets away.
First of all the whole place has a reverent atmosphere, which can often be lost where there are large numbers of visitors in my experience. The staff are very helpful and have a warmth when dealing with visitors.
The Church was for me the best that I visited in Malta, the art work was more modern than that of St John’s Cathedral but for me had real depth.
The displays were very informative and well presented.
The nearby Monastery Mysterium Fidei was easily found since it was only two streets away. This is a place of real atmosphere, the displays are simple but well presented.
The whole experience was really informative and gave a great feel for the recent history of the Dominican Order in Malta. I would highly recommend a visit.

Well worth a visit - What a great exhibition. Well thought out and executed. Extremely helpful staff. It is worth paying the extra and visiting the secret garden, which is a 2-3 minute walk away. We really enjoyed our visit.

A beautiful religious place - Few religious sites can be visited in the afternoon; this visit is possible. The exhibits are beautiful, the paintings sometimes amazing. In the church there is a very calming atmosphere, and one is impressed by the domes and statues.
