Discovering the Turia River Canyon

Our adventure began with a scenic drive from Valencia to the quaint town of Chulilla, nestled among the mountains. As we arrived, the sight of the white Mediterranean houses against the backdrop of lush greenery was a sight to behold. My three kids were immediately captivated by the charm of the town, and I knew we were in for a memorable day.

We met our guide, who was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly patient with the kids’ endless questions. The hike through the Turia River Canyon was nothing short of spectacular. In the summer months, this spot is ideal for a refreshing swim, but since we visited in the spring, we opted for another short hike instead. The kids didn’t mind at all, as they were eager to explore more of the beautiful landscape. The additional hike offered new perspectives of the canyon, and we even spotted some local wildlife, much to the delight of my youngest.

Exploring the Town of Chulilla

Our day concluded with a tour of Chulilla, a town that seemed frozen in time. Walking through its narrow alleys, we were greeted by friendly locals and the aroma of traditional Spanish cuisine wafting from nearby cafes. The kids were fascinated by the town’s history, and our guide shared stories of its past, adding depth to our visit.
