• Echmiadzin Monastery - Recognized as the world’s first Christian church and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Currently, due to ongoing renovations, visitors can only view the Mother Cathedral from the outside.
• Saint Hripsime Church - Located in Echmiadzin, this church is a renowned example of cross-cupola architecture in Armenia, celebrated for its architectural elegance and grandeur. It houses the tomb of the Christian martyr, Virgin Hripsime, within its sacristy. This site is also part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
• Zvartnots Temple - This extraordinary temple showcases the ingenuity and bold creativity of 7th-century Armenian architects. Originally supported by several columns, it remained intact until the 10th century. During early 20th-century excavations, the reconstruction model by the esteemed Armenian architect Toros Toramanyan was initially met with skepticism. However, a bas-relief from St. Chapelle church in Paris, depicting Zvartnots temple with Noah’s Ark, validated Toramanyan’s design. This site is included in the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage List.
• Garni Temple - Perched on a triangular cape, Garni Temple is the sole surviving example of pre-Christian culture in Armenia, blending Greco-Roman and Armenian styles. Commissioned by King Trdat The First in the first century AD, it was dedicated to the Sun God. After Armenia adopted Christianity in 301, the temple lost its religious significance, and the Garni fortress became a royal summer residence. Today, the ruins of the royal palace and a bathhouse with exquisite mosaic work are located nearby.
• The Monastery of Geghard - A 13th-century architectural marvel, Geghard Monastery features churches intricately carved into a massive rock. Initially known as Ayrivank (cave monastery), it was later renamed Geghard (lance) after the lance used by a Roman soldier to pierce Jesus Christ’s side was kept here for centuries. Geghardavank is renowned for its acoustics, making it ideal for spiritual songs. The complex is adorned with intricate sculptures and numerous impressive khachkars (cross-stones). This site is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

On this 8-9-hour tour visit Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral, the main cathedral of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the very first Christian cathedral in the World (from outside). It is listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also see the church of St. Gayane and St. Hripsime churches that are among the three churches in Echmiadzin dedicated to the Christian women-martyrs escaped from Rome with their abbess Gayane. Stop in Zvartnots, the medieval temple of St. Gregory built in the 7th century. It was one of the tallest buildings of the time (45-49m). Today the ruins of the temple can be seen in Zvartnots. Visit Garni, the only pagan temple which exists in Armenia before moving onto Geghard monastery, a complex which is carved in a cave.
