It was first mentioned in documents in 1338. 1525 acquired the monastery of St. John in the Thur valley, the house and vineyard for 758 guilders. After almost 300 years, the estate was sold again in 1807. Since then it has been owned by the Rheinberger family. In the back of the house is the wine press, the Torkelbaum, an oak trunk, in the winter of 1483/84 was proven fell. Great way to see Vaduz! - Had a great experience on the Stadtle tour. What an amazing way to see Vaduz and learn all about it's history and culture! We are a couple in our thirties but I think this tour is suitable for all ages. I really enjoyed seeing the Vaduz stadium, vineyards and learning about the castle and Prince of Liechtenstein. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Vaduz!

A truly unforgettable tour, especially I returned after eighteen years to Vaduz, the city and its very charming surroundings!! - The views are great, I went up to the top, I had a splendid panoramic view!!! I really liked Alter Rheinbrucke, a very good masterpiece.

Vaduz by little train - do it! - Amazing views, toured the whole city, I think, great customer service! We went in the morning which is supposed to be 'groups' only, but the ticket guy added us in as the train wasn't full & gave us super headsets as the tour for the main group was in a different language and was given over the loudspeakers in the train. This system worked to perfection and we really enjoyed ourselves. We saw the vineyards, castle, city centre, outskirts, views of the mountains and so much more. I would highly recommend this tour as with such a small city you get to see so much and can then walk it with the knowledge you've just learnt.

It was an easy way to see the interiors - Vaduz city train service was very useful to us, as it was quick taking just around 35 minutes to complete its route and took a route covering the city centre and some suburbs which were more residential so that we could get an idea of the Liechtensteiner's style of life. Further it went through vineyards where the Liechtenstein wines originates. The city had many interesting sculptures which were of very high artistic value. There was a commentary to listen, to identify the monuments they were passing and the highlights of the tour. If one is on a day tour to Vaduz this facility would be of immense use.

Just ok…. - It was….meh. It could have been more fun. The driver didn’t interact with anyone at all. We plugged in to the little headset and drove. I was glad we had only booked the 35 minute tour.

There isn't a lot to see in Vaduz, but this was a good way of getting around - The tour is fairly short as there isn't all that much to see. Tour took us past the Red House, the Rheinpark Stadion (Liechtenstein's national stadium), and the various notable buildings in the pedestrianised area of Vaduz. Note that there are only two tours per day, at 1pm and 4:30pm.

If you can walk, don’t take this train! Very disappointing.... - I really have a difficult time leaving bad reviews for anything and usually just don’t leave a review but I really felt like I needed to leave a truthful and honest answer about this attraction. First of all, if you can walk, you should walk to the few things that this train takes you to. I thought it was extremely overpriced for what it was. (10 francs). It was supposed to be a 35 minute tour of the city but we were back and off the train in less than 23 minutes ( yes I was watching the time). I could barely understand what the driver was saying not that he said much at all. Most of the tour basically consisted of riding around on a train that was not very comfortable, crammed into small cars, with the driver saying the names of what we were passing by (in multiple languages). There was very little explanation of the history or importance of what we were seeing. It just seemed very rushed and no real “feeling or emotion”. Even if they factor in traffic time, if we were going to get back early the driver could have done something else to add to the tour. It just seemed like he was just doing it in a rush to get back. I thought each car of the train would be the tour, presented in a different language, as when we bought our tickets and the agent heard that we spoke English, she told us to go to a specific car. There were a bunch of Americans and Canadians in one car and the other cars also appeared to be broken down into ethnic groups. We still had to listen to each thing the driver said in multiple languages through a PA system that was very difficult to hear. I am hoping that this tour is not privately owned and that the money we spent on it will benefit the town and the people. Don’t bother with this attraction, it’s not worth it. We loved every other aspect of Liechtenstein!! The people, the sites, the food etc..
